Story
Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Good simple romance novel
Reviewed: 08-09-22
The performance was done really well. I’m excited to hear future novels read by Julia Whelan. The novel was well written by Emily Henry. It’s very much like a Hallmark movie. I do respect the MC sticking with her beliefs and not really wanting to change her interest for others. But the plot does move forward and there’s still character development, It’s the classic kind of romance trope (big city/small town) but it does add some originality to it with the personality of the main character. This was my first book by Emily Henry and I would read more of her novels.

Since escaping the demonic realm six months ago, I’ve honed my skills and my rage hunting the craven evils of New York City alongside the witches who saved me. Vigilantes, they call us. Cold-hearted killers. Monsters of the night. If only they knew how true that was—what our pasts have shaped us to be.

Vanessa Moyen is one of my favorite narrators. She continues to do an excellent job bringing the characters to life. I really enjoyed this stand alone novel by Amber Lynn Natusch. It’s a pretty fast pace book. I did enjoy the Zen and Oleander banter. I don’t read a lot of books about witches and demons so this was a nice change in genre.

My name is Scarlett Mason, and on the surface, I’m just your average college student. What you don’t know: demons, Fae, Hellhounds, vampiric sorcerers, and a whole slew of creatures from the Underworld are very much real, and they walk among us. How do I know this? I’ve been training since I was ten years old to become a hunter in the hopes I’ll be able to find the monster responsible for killing my parents. But you know what they say about even the best-laid plan…

Jaymin Eve and Everly Frost did a great job. Marbella is such a strong female lead. I really respected the choices she made to protect herself from the curse. There was action, angst, evil plots, and romance. I liked the bonding between the storm and the princess throughout the book. Highly recommend this book and really any books by Jaymin Eve! This is the first book I’ve read from Everly Frost and it did not disappoint. I’m off to buy the next book! Worth the credit.

The second novel was really enjoyable just like the first one. It reads like a fairy tale almost. Knight trying to find love but still follow the rules of the king. I felt like there were more serious emotions that the main characters were dealing with in the second novel. There’s still politics and romance. It was a really good continuation of the first book and the ending was really great!

Story
My name is Kit Steele, and I was 10 years old when thousands of alien ships landed all over the world in the year 2020. We thought for sure that we'd be goners, about to be obliterated or terraformed out of existence. But when the ship doors opened, they were empty. Maybe they were just communication vessels, we thought.

Wow! So this is the first alien dystopian novel that I have listened to. I really enjoy reading any of Leia Stone novels. This isn’t one of her normal novels but I really enjoyed it. I got sucked into Kit and Damiens world. I really liked Kit’s character. She was a bada** with humor. I can’t wait to read more about their adventures. You just can’t help but root for them to win. I can’t wait to continue reading this series! Also, can’t stress enough how amazing Vanessa Moyen is as a narrator.

Mom sent me all the way across the country to the Louisiana bayou to join the circus and help my uncle for the summer. Except, there is something not quite right on this swampy cursed island, and after having my fortune told, I can’t leave. I try to escape, but Benny, an all too charming ghost gangster, tries to kill me by feeding me to a tiger. Thankfully, I’m rescued by Samuel, the incredibly hot ringmaster who can’t be a day over 20. Can he?

Ready for book 2!!
Reviewed: 02-10-20
Wow this was a really entertaining listen. I really liked the spin on the circus of the dead. I thought the plot was original with great world building. I will say I forget a lot that that main character is only 16 until she’s starts talking about her first kiss. I did not care for how often that was mentioned. And It might be a little weird to some readers the love interests are much older but look like they are 17. Other than that, this book had a great plot with really good narration. It defiantly kept me interested and I would like to know what happens in book 2!

Ari hates the institute and everything it stands for. But to save her father's job, she's agreed to help host a time traveling exchange student. She only has to behave for three months while he's here, then off he goes back to 1903 where he came from. Easy peasy, right? There's just one problem. The more time Ari spends with James the harder she falls for him.

The first law of the Valkyrie is "Don't fall in love." I messed that one up...big time. I failed my sisters and fell in love with William Johnson. I've watched him for three lifetimes and a little piece of me broke every time I had to let him die. I paid the price for breaking the first law of the Valkyrie. I lost all the memories I had of Will. That's why Sam is keeping tabs on me. She's an ever-present shadow during my time at Mattsfield High. Sam is the perfect Valkyrie. Tall. Beautiful. Heartless.

Fun Spin on Norse Mythology
Reviewed: 02-09-20
Really enjoyed listening to this interesting spin on love for a Valkyrie. This is a cool spin bring Norse mythology to the modern world. Valerie is an interesting character. She’s not perfect but there are traits of bravery that really redeems the character. She isn’t one dimensional. I like that fact there is character development. Narration was alright, it helped when I sped it up to 1.5-1.75.
