About this listen

THE CURSE IS SET. THE GAME IS RIGGED.

In an Elven city beneath the streets of Chicago, the perfect storm rages, kept under control only by Marbella Mercy, the Storm Princess. Now she is of age, champions from each of the elven houses will play a game of wit and strength to fight for her hand - and for the chance to control the forces of nature.

Baelen Rath is the last of his line and risks everything to be a champion. But what he and the others don't know? The princess is fighting too.

Because she's discovered that the winner is cursed to kill her, not marry her, and the only way to save herself is to win.

But Marbella is fighting a power greater than herself, because someone believes that the perfect storm should be unleashed and for that to happen - the princess must die.

This is a full length (85,000 words) fantasy story. Elves. Gargoyles. And the Perfect Storm that might destroy them both.

A fierce and brave character

Mirabella is a fierce and loyal person. She'd do anything for the ones she loves, even fight every male in the trails. This book will suck you in.

Fast paced and perfect!

This was one I stumbled across. I love all of Jamin Eves books. The beginning is very fast paced and you dont want to miss a word if you are going to properly understand the world created here. Kept my interst, will be on the 2nd book of series!

Great plot twists

Great plot twists and action. Real romance, not just sappy stuff. The narrator did great with modulating her voice with each character. Ending was great....really makes you want to get the next book asap.

Buying the next book... need I say more

Jaymin Eve and Everly Frost did a great job. Marbella is such a strong female lead. I really respected the choices she made to protect herself from the curse. There was action, angst, evil plots, and romance. I liked the bonding between the storm and the princess throughout the book. Highly recommend this book and really any books by Jaymin Eve! This is the first book I’ve read from Everly Frost and it did not disappoint. I’m off to buy the next book! Worth the credit.

Pretty good

I wasn’t sure I’d like this book as it started, and almost gave up on it. As I got further into the story, it picked up and I felt it got better. Looking forward to see where the journey takes the Princess.

Enjoyed

I came across this book a few times but was concerned about the mixed reviews. After book one I must say I did enjoy it. There could have been more background detail that would have given the story more depth especially regarding the storm origin. Overall a nice clean read. Especially if you are looking for a look audible book that does require you to turn off with children in car.

Interesting, but didn't like the narrator

The story had kind of a different plot, and I generally like books by Jaymin Eve, but I didn't find this heroine particularly likeable, nor become vested in a happy ending for her. The fact that I disliked the narrator may have contributed to my negative opinion. Her voice when speaking as Marbella was really irritating and whiny and too high-pitched -- very hand-wringing, "woe is me" -- in tone and cadence. She also seems to pronounce "quarters" as "cor-ters", which for some reason really got on my nerves, especially since this word is used frequently throughout the book, and I winced each time. In the future I will be avoiding books by this narrator.
