Blue eyes one Egyptian Gods
Reviewed: 01-22-22
I love fantasy books and this one was great even though it definitely gives off Mormon vibes; however The civilization of the people was too much like Egypt for the gods named Isis and Osiris to have blue eyes. It felt like white washing history and made me very upset.

Fast paced, well developed and interesting! Wish there was less profanity because I like to listen on speaker phone while doing my house keeping and I wouldn’t want my family to hear the profanity. Otherwise it was perfect!

Too slow!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
There was too much prose. The author’s love of English literature is evident, unfortunately such love outweighed the momentum of the story and I was weary after only 6 chapters -pity the premise was excellent!

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great Story telling!
Reviewed: 01-05-18
This is a 5 star story with 3-4 star editing. One could easily delete one paragraph per page without changing the implied meaning- thereby moving the story along much faster. I grew bored in sections, but the story itself was so great, I pushed through. Also, the two performers did not agree on the pronunciation of a character’s name, that was sad, frustrating and clearly avoidable!
Still, all in all, I’d read it again and have already purchased the sequel- fingers crossed!

Awesome story, great action, really picks up the pace at the end. Yes, there was a little feedback from the microphone, but had I not read about it beforehand, I may not have noticed it.
