About this listen

Attorney Dani Rollins is bullish in the courtroom - pushing judges and prosecutors to their limits in defense of the innocent. So when she meets Teddy Thorne, a mentally challenged teen accused of selling drugs, Dani knows she’s got this in the bag. She can easily settle the case with a couple of court appearances. But when prosecutors move for an adult felony conviction, Dani suspects Teddy’s being used as a pawn in a sinister game.

As the case moves forward, Dani is certain the judge and district attorney’s office have motivations beyond the crime - a fair trial isn’t in the cards. And when she takes on guardianship of Teddy, the case becomes personal as she fights her own demons and the government. Dani will stop at nothing to protect this innocent boy - there’s no other option. Because if she loses, both she and Teddy could lose far more than just the case....

Victoria Methos?

I’m just playing. But seriously. I’m all for the me too movement, but this book was a little too mushy. A little less relationship drama and a little bit more court room action would be nice. I gave it four stars overall because it was pretty good Mostly. Reads a little like a Nora Roberts book. At least with Nora Roberts, I know what to expect.

I don’t know if there was supposed be a surprise ending - But to me it was glaringly obvious who was responsible. That’s all I’ll say

MUST READ

This was The first book that I read from this author. From the moment it started, to the end, it moved quickly and was well written. Don’t hesitate

A Gambler’s Jury

This story by Victor Methos was totally appealing to me. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audible version, and have already downloaded another of his books on my Kindle app. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in Mysteries.

Very good read

This was a good book and the defense attorney was very entertaining. The plot however, for superiorly disheartening and I'm afraid that such a scheme in reality could certainly be carried out. It's good to know that the author and the fictitious attorney would be on the right side of justice were this ever a case they were lawyering.

Really good book.

Don’t normally write reviews. Love courtroom dramas. Big fan of John Grisham, Michael Connelly and James Grippando.
This is my first Victor Methos book and it will certainly not be the last. Good story, great characters, beautifully performed and written.

Good book

Good books based on a sad reality. It was obvious that the adoptive parents were involved.
