Publisher's summary

A wittily informative field guide to the deadliest animals on Earth from a beloved "AnimalTok" star.

Ever wonder how to tell if a moose is about to subtract you? Curious why you should be terrified of cassowaries, the “velociraptor that time forgot?” Questioning whether that cute baby hippo is actually a homicidal maniac in the making? Yeah, so was Mamadou Ndiaye . . . and now he's got your answers.

100 Animals That Can F--king End You is the ultimate countdown to merk by animal, featuring everything from tiny bugs that can turn you into a hashtag to animals so massive they can murder you by accident. These include:

  • The massive Southern elephant seal, which "is built like a truck with the personality of a Spring Break frat boy"
  • Sperm whales with a call so strong it can vibrate you to death
  • A golf-ball-sized octopus that can erase twenty-six people with one bite
  • Hyenas, which have no qualms eating their prey while it is still alive
  • A snake so quick it can strike you three times before you blink

You’ll learn not only which animals to avoid, but which ones can beat you in a footrace, which ones create surprisingly high body counts, and which ones will give you a good reason never to venture into the ocean. Mamadou also offers the occasional survival tip, even if it is just to make peace with your higher power.

This dynamic, fact-filled, occasionally disturbing book is perfect for animal lovers and anyone perplexed by the natural world.

loved it

I discovered this author on social media. This book did not disappoint. Loved it I laughed. And I learned a lot. I was upset when I finished it. Hopefully there will be another one.

Funny and Informative

While a fair amount of the content here is the same as what you'd hear in one of his video, his humor and delivery never really get old. Love using this as background noise while doing other things.

Casual Geographic Rocks

I've been a long time fan of this man because of his factual, informative, and overall fun way of teaching.

Pure Fun!

This is a book to listen to when you need to unwind. Ndiaye does NOT disappoint, delivering the laugh-out-loud wit and perspicuity we've all come to love and admire. The delivery is a little slower than in his online videos (which by the nature of the platform have to be kept quite short) but Mamadou Ndiaye's brilliance shines through and if you really want the super-fast cadence of the TikToks, you can always speed up the recording.

Amazing

I've been watching his videos for a long time now and finding out that he has a book, let alone an audio version, is the best thing that has happened in recent years. I hope Mamadou makes more books. And remember to drink water, pet your dog, hug your mother and have a nice day.

This was fun!

I always enjoy the Casual Geographic vids on YouTube and this is like an audiobook spin-off of the same enjoyable material. If you like those videos, you'll enjoy this audiobook too.

This Translated Well

I watch his videos on YouTube, so when I heard there was an audiobook coming, I was all over it. His humor and wit translated well from videos, and I found myself laughing just as hard while listening as I do when watching.
I'll say it anyway though it goes without saying; this was educational and informative as always. His delivery is second to none and keeps the listener engaged. I hope there will be more books in the future.
