About this listen

From the best-selling author of Lies comes 29 Seconds, a sensational new thriller that explores what happens when a split second thought of revenge takes on a life of its own.

"Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear."

Sarah is a young professor struggling to prove herself in a workplace controlled by the charming and manipulative Alan Hawthorne, a renowned scholar and television host. The beloved professor rakes in million-dollar grants for the university where Sarah works - so his inappropriate treatment of female colleagues behind closed doors has gone unchallenged for years. And Sarah is his newest target.

When Hawthorne's advances turn threatening, she’s left with nowhere to turn. Until the night she witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a young child on her drive home, and impulsively jumps in to intervene. The child’s father turns out to be a successful businessman with dangerous connections - and her act of bravery has put this powerful man in her debt. He lives by his own brutal code, and all debts must be repaid. In the only way he knows how. The man gives Sarah a burner phone and an unbelievable offer. A once-in-a-lifetime deal that can make all her problems disappear.

No consequences. No traces. No chance of being found out. All it takes is a 29-second phone call.

Because everyone has a name to give. Don’t they?

Enjoyable

This was a pretty good story. I would have given a higher overall reading, except I felt like it left me hanging towards the end. The story line gets intense and then it kind of drops you (felt like I missed a chapter) and picks up what happen after the fact. Felt like they should of taken you through it step by step., would have been good. Oh well, other then that, it was a pretty good book

Good start. Aborted ending.

Interesting plot and good character development.

However it was an abrupt and disappointing ending in my opinion.

Great listen!

I couldn’t stop listening ... seriously... it was a good thing I was home sick so that I could listen continuously or I wouldn’t had to call off for the book!

First book by Logan and I liked!

Selecting a book from a new author is always hit or miss no matter how good the summary sounds. The good news is that 29 Seconds was definitely a hit. The book was a "page-turner" (even though I listened on audiobook) with good pacing and numerous twists and turns. It kept me getting guessing right up to the very end. It's not perfect - the protagonist has some moments that lead you to wonder why an educated person could have the thought she had but these are the exception. Also, her kids can be annoying at times and I was frustrated to the degree she tolerated their misbehavior. But, that happens in real life with a lot of parents. Neither were significant detractors from the book. I would definitely check out another of Logan's books!

Couldn’t turn it off! Perfect thriller.

I was searching for a good thriller and this one fit the bill. Don’t want to give anything away so I’ll leave it at it’s worth the credit.

Emotions Got in the way

I went on an emotional roller coaster while listening to this one. At first i thought i picked the wrong book it seemed like the topic had nothing to do with the summary. I picked the book based on the summary as I continued to read I just got plain old mad about this woman's action. Then the end came and it all made sense. I think this would be a better movie than a book.

Constantly on your toes

This book had me on my toes from start to finish. There are so many twists and turns throughout the book and, it really shows strength and determination of a woman against men who are willing to abuse their authority in work places

Had me at Chapter One...couldn't stop...the end.

Suspenseful with plot twists and a great story line! Loved all the characters and the lady who read this story was phenomenal with the perfect accents.

Enjoyable

I will admit I didn't see the end coming. So that was nice. It's just a little abrupt. All in all worth your credit.
