About this listen

Detective Lindsay Boxer is jogging along a beautiful San Francisco street when a fiery explosion rips through the neighborhood. A town house owned by an Internet millionaire is immediately engulfed in flames, and when Lindsay plunges inside to search for survivors, she finds three people dead. An infant who lived in the house cannot be found; and a mysterious message at the scene leaves Lindsay and the San Francisco Police Department completely baffled.

Then a prominent businessman is found murdered under bizarre circumstances, with another mysterious message left behind by the killer. Lindsay asks her friends Claire Washburn of the medical examiner's office, Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, and Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas to help her figure out who is committing these murders, and why they are intent on killing someone every three days.

Even more terrifying, the killer has targeted one of the four friends who call themselves the Women's Murder Club.

Womens' Murder Club

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe...the characters' lives are much better than whatever tragedy is unfolding at the time. Patterson presents his idea of a group of women friends that I find really cheesy at times and unrealistic.

Any additional comments?

The drama of the reading was a little over the top.

Love This Series

In Book 3, the Women's Murder Club must solve the crime of a murderer set on killing every three days before one of the four women becomes his next target. I love these women. I love how they support each other and how they lift each other up.

Intense

Another great James Patterson mystery. I really like Lindsey Boxer. Sad that one of the main characters died, but it makes the story realistic. A good listen or read, if you prefer.

Wrong names

It bothered me that Claire’s husband’s name was changed in this book. It should be Edmund not Edger.

Great story.

I was having a hard time with boredom in the beginning even though the plot was interesting. Then I discovered that if I turned up the speed of the narrator the boredom evaporated and her voice became much less monotonous, adding intensity and interest to the story. I will be using that speed up feature from now on as I go on to the next book in the series.

music ruins the book

Great book and story, hate the music playing in the background and that they changed Jill’s voice to a cheesy southern accent.
