About this listen

All the money in the world means nothing without someone with whom to share it.

Billionaire actor Brent McKasson wanted something different in life. Tired of being typecast in the same action roles, he decides to take some time off to think. However, his car breaks down in the small town of Soda Spurs, Texas. Forced to rely on people he doesn't know, Brent rediscovers the charm of a small town and a feisty female mechanic, but will it be enough for him to stay, or will the fame call him back?

Sam Jenkins moved to Soda Spurs after a hard breakup. All she wanted to do was open up an auto shop and return to her small-town roots. Then, Brent McKasson lands in her lap. Literally. She's the only mechanic in town, and with the only hotel in town booked for the Cowboy festival, she is forced to open her spare room to him for the weekend. What she hadn't expected was to open her heart to him as well.

But can a spark between two opposites create a lasting love? Or will his fame and her independence keep them apart?

another cute story

from what I saw, this is the 2nd book in a series, but it was completely unrelated to the last one I listened to. this was an opposites attract, and it felt for the most part realistic. The problems they had to overcome were normal people problems, so even though it's a billionaire book, it felt relatable. it was also less preachy than some of the other books by this author. which I appreciated as a not religious person. I've been reading/ listening to more and more clean books because usually the stories are better since the author doesn't rely on sex to hold the readers attention.

I've listened to books by this narator before. I remember before, not being thrilled with his female voice, but this one felt like he wasn't trying as hard to sound like a woman, but just softened his natural voice enough just to differentiate the 2 characters. it worked much better for me! his normal speaking voice is awesome. very comanding.

It was hard to put it down!

I enjoyed the storyline and the fact that it's clean. so glad that you made this a full-length novel instead of a short novella. I very much enjoyed the inspirational part.

Another great book

Some people think money is everything, but when you find your true love you will give up everything for that person. The narration was wonderful

From two different worlds

The chance meeting, the different lifestyles, a perfect set up for romance? Yes. These characters grow together in a weekend and pursue relationship. The story line is captivating and full of emotions. I laughed, I was angry, I felt the depth of love. Having the option of listening was perfect for this time of year. The narrator took me a chapter to get used to, when reading I make my own voices for each character. It was a bit like watching the movie after reading a book. After a short time, the story took over and I recommend this be your next book on your listening list. Bonus it is a romance that you don't have to shut off if someone enters the room.

A good clean Romance

I enjoyed the book. I would recommend it to anybody to listen to or read. I love the storyline and how Opposites Attract and that she mingled in the relationship that they had have with God. It was realistic as to the obstacles that they needed to get around to help make the relationship work

4.5 stars

Such a sweet story of two wounded hearts who find healing together (with the help of a few small town busy bodies, lol)

Initially it's a fairly predictable plot, with a bit of insta-love going on, but just when you think their happily-ever-after has been secured, an unexpected twist crops up. And the HEA is amped up because of that (yum)!

Clean romance level is a few sweet kisses
The plot includes discussion of the protagonists' Christian faith in a pretty realistic way, but is not preachy

The narrator has a perfect voice, though he starts out sounding a little bit cheesy, he settles into it pretty quickly and does a great job overall.

This is a perfect story for those times when you want something to lighten up your mood after a long day.

Excellent

Always look forward to the author’s work either in writing or as a narrator
They will be clean heartwarming stories of how God has a plan and how it unfolds to bring couples together.
With Brent. his car breaks down in a small town and who was the mechanic but Sam, owner of the shop and needing money. A lot of people with a Porsche only want a certified person to work on their cars. Will he let her, and a story of love coming with opposites attraction .

Recommended

A solid story between a plain speaking small town mechanic and a movie star. The story does as good job of humanizing Brent as the movie star, keeping him a real person and not an idol.

Sam has a chip on her shoulder and although proclaims herself a Christian, has some definite prejudices stemming from past hurts. The story unfolds as Brent & Sam work through their issues.

C.J. McAllister did a terrific job narrating.

I recieved a free Audible copy, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
