About this listen

Christmas on Catalina Island - it's just what the doctor ordered.

Injured in the line of duty, FBI special agent Shane Donovan is longing for a few days of peace and quiet. Some nice meals, a couple of good books, and maybe a bottle of the best. No family, no friends, no fa la la la la...just a little time on his own to think things through.

But an offshore storm, a geriatric treasure hunter, and the guy who dumped him without a word two years earlier are about to unwrap all Shane's carefully laid holiday plans.

Sweet healing Christmas story

I liked this story about miscommunication and healing hearts. It was set up well and drawn to its inevitable conclusion with a little angst, but not too angsty, nothing pitiful like some Christmas stories can be. There's even clear growth for both characters equally. A very well balanced and pleasant get-your-act-together love story for good holiday reading. The narration was excellent.

Nice little second chance romance.

I'd give the story 3.5* overall- I was expecting just a little more when it came to the "geriatric treasure hunter". But other than that, I enjoyed this second chance romance. I love imagining that something like this could actually happen in real life!

I liked Derrick McClain's narration, he has a very nice voice.

A Sweet Tale of Misgivings...

What a sweet little story. Shane & Linus...perceptions and misgivings of one's thoughts of what was in the past and how quickly it reignited in the present...a sweet Christmas tale...

Awesome Holiday Read

Audiobook Review December 2019:
I called A Case of Christmas a romantic comedy the first time around 4 years ago and after listening to Derrick McClain's narration, I would reinforce that statement. Shane and his Not-Norton is clever and fun in a I-want-to-whack-their-heads-together kind of way. Rom-com with little Lanyon tweaks here and there to make this holiday gem enjoyable anytime of the year.

Original Review December 2015:
Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without a Lanyon read. Sometimes timing is everything and will Shane and his Not-Norton get it right the second time around? A great little romantic comedy for your holiday library

short and unimpressive

Nothing really happens. Guy meets guy, guy falls in love. guy looses guy, guy finds guy again and falls in love. Ok, but not wow or even ehh.

Not For Me But Maybe For You

This was not my favorite book , though I do love short Christmas love stories. Glad I gave it a shot though.

Lovely short story.

As with all Josh Lanyon stories, I enjoyed getting to know the characters, and enjoying a little mystery thrown in for good measure.

Awesome

I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this book, but I loved it and was sad to see it end.

Not bad

Any additional comments?

Josh Lanyon knows how to tell great angst-filled, forgive and forget, love stories. This is just another shinning example of that. Loved the characters, of course family has to be annoying as usual but love was there.

A mediocre trifle

josh has written many good pieces, however this one is mediocre by comparison. Yes it is a cute Christmas trifle, but with almost no substance. Even its hinted at mystery was simply thrown away. it isn't worth one credit.
