About this listen

Connor loves teaching. He loves working with kids, he loves feeling like he's making a difference. And the kids - and parents - seem to love him. Until the afternoon he makes a small error in judgment, and an angry father's thoughtless comments start the kind of rumor that destroys careers. And lives.

Everything Connor thought he knew about himself and his world is now in doubt. But sometimes help comes from the most unexpected direction.

Cute Story

Cute - glad I finally got around to this one. Super early Michael Ferraiuolo, which was fun. (2015)

Enjoyable, but not awesome

Any additional comments?

I mostly love Josh L's audiobooks. She has a way of building love through everyday drama, as well as through the art of mystery and suspense. This is a contemporary romance - no crime drama or mystery involved here. Just an everyday type of drama that regular people deal with in the real world.

The narration is professional and entertaining. I had a bit of an issue with the plot holes. There were a few things that bugged me, and I felt like I wanted to argue with the story at times. I am not going to go into details because I would spoil things with too many specifics.

And here's a weird thing - I felt like Wes should have been the name for Conner's character, and Con should have been the name for Wes's character - I kept getting them mixed up. Thankfully the narrator was good enough to do the voices differently and consistently. Their names just didn't fit who they were. So weird to say, I know.

I also thought that Wes's character could have been developed more. Because he was kind of a dick to Con, and his motivations may have been solid, but the reader didn't see that really.

I am glad I listened to it and for the most part I was well entertained.

WOW! sweet and emotional.

I don't know why I didn't buy this book earlier! It is not the normal murder mystery Josh is known for, but I strangely found this to be one of the more emotional one. What a sweet unexpected love story.

Short and Cute

I personally love all of Josh Lanyons book. Her main characters are so heart warming and even though their significant others usually make me wanna pull my hair out they still win me over in the end. She's one of the best MM authors out there and I think that every book of hers deserves a listen

I loved this.

This was a short-ish listen; just perfect for an evening's enjoyment. I loved the story and I always love Michael Ferraiuolo's audiobook performances.

Wes Callahan was a jerk but he eventually redeemed himself and Con forgave him.

Who wrote this?

Any additional comments?

Who wrote this? Really. Tepid characters, no world building, no atmosphere, none of the beautiful prose for which Lanyon is known. The storyline was mediocrity personified. Thank goodness it was short story; so disappointing. One saving grace... Michael Ferraiuolo was a wonderful narrator.
