Good story -engaging characters

Not a fan of virtual voice…needs work on word pronunciations and not so one level. Miss human inflection.

narration sucks

the story was enjoyable, but the computer reading the story isn't enjoyable. the "voice" is almost monotone & the characters all have the the same "voice". Human readers use different voices for each character & that makes the story even more exciting. The computer voice is just off enough to make it difficult to listen to.

AI needs to develop a bit more

Loved the books - but the AI voice literally ruined it. I recommend the Kindle or book instead.

Great magical mysteries with just a touch of a love story

Well written and easy to follow. We enjoyed the mysteries and riddles. The narration was a bit off with the inflection and pronunciation of some words but overall okay.

The AI voice-work is very disappointing.

I think this might be a good book, but the AI generated voice makes it so uninteresting that I couldn’t get through the first few chapters, even a full box set at no cost. It’s too bad. There must be a way to have the AI at least try to learn from someone amazing like Amanda Ronconi!

Try it if you don’t mind zero voice inflection or differentiations in characters. The book(s) might be okay.

Abandoning ship

Being a collection of cozy mysteries, I knew going in they wouldn't be in-depth stories with well-developed characters by any means, but for me these miss the mark even for the light-hearted break I was taking between the more hard-boiled mysteries I prefer. I've been an Audible member for 10 years with a collection of over 3400 purchased titles in my library along with a few dozen plus titles including this one. I say that because I want to explain that in all the years I've been listening to audio books this is probably only the third title I've abandoned, I'm half-way through the book but I've got to stop. If it were only the mediocre stories I'd probably plod on, but I can't take any more of the Virtual Voice narration. Not only is it flat and boring to listen to, it also mispronounces words in a very distracting way, such as using the wrong pronunciation of "live" because it doesn't have any real conception of what it's saying. While the programmers have tried building a little inflection into the voice it's just not right. The timing is off, the inflections often don't fit the situation. and there are no different voices to distinguish characters either. In a nutshell, it's both boring and distracting. So, all you authors out there do yourself a big favor and hire real voice actors for your narration; consider it an investment in your future.
