About this listen

Cuffing season has come for lesbians.

Jess Archer, digital journalist for the internet’s hottest lesbian media platform, has been assigned to research cuffing, from an up close and personal perspective. She’s not sure it’s really her thing, but the assignment gives her the chance to write something more substantial than her usual fluff pieces. All she needs now is a willing lesbian.

For Cody Dawson, signing up for Jess’s project is a no-brainer. She gets to date an interesting woman, enjoy her company, and not disrupt the tidy life she’s built for her son. Everything’s perfect until she starts falling for Jess. When she realizes she’s heart-deep in the feelings she’s agreed not to have, their convenient arrangement becomes anything but.

Great concept

Very interesting concept, great tie in with previous book, great authors...the whole should be greater than the sum of its parts but that didn't quite happen. I think I would have liked it a lot more had I read it. The narrator has moments of flow but that was the exception.

Cuffing is not what ya thinks...

Is a term that is a Thing for couples to do.
In this lovely second story of this duo friend's of how each must find their own way to find love. I love the family, I love the story, and of course K. Grace brings everyone to life in my mind eye. Highly encourage you to listen.

Not what I expected, but in a good way

First off, I want to start out by saying that new lingo is where I am lacking. Call me a dork, or whatever, but I had to google to actually see what cuffing was. Now, with that being said, I truly enjoyed this book. The fun banter back and forth was excellent. The overall performance from the narrator was great. I loved how well this book was written. Not only does this book actually allow you to relate to the characters, but I felt as if I was actually seeing a true lesbian relationship develop. I have found that even when authors write lesbian romance, the characters are only relatable to an extent, but this story actually gave me feels. Wonderful story, would recommend definitely reading or umm listening to it.

Great job

I am not at all surprised that these two wonderful writers would do such a great job writing together.

lots of problems, and a great story

I can understand Cody's concern over Ben, but she was so concerned it almost ruined her life. Jess was her solution to life, loving Ben and loving Cody.

It was good but not great

I say if your thinking about listening to this then go for it. The story was good, it had a good idea and followed through with it. The kid wasn't bad if you were wondering about that. this was the first time I listened to this narrator and out of all the ones I have listened too I wouldn't say it was my favorite but that might have been more about the story. like I said it was good but it just felt lacking at times. like the author I feel could have expanded a little more at times, for the most part they did that but then at other times Im not sure how to place it other than saying I felt like I wanted to know a little more of what was happening. The sex parts were good too wasn't over the top and gave you a taste of what was happening but didn't focus on it. like I rated it's a good listen 4 out of 5 but I feel it could have been done a little better. still I was happy I listened to it.

Nice to have a story about emotional adults

My favorite bit about this book is that it doesn't put poor emotional behavior on a pedestal. Don't get me wrong, the characters are human beings and show flaws, bad choices, including blow outs where they behave unfairly. But the authors also demonstrate how adults resolve these things, think of them, and avoid them. They also avoided most of the expected directions the plot would take. And managed to be fun along the way. Kira Omans is a good voice actor, with a pleasant voice who inflected the narrative appropriately for content. I feel she did a very good job.

Sweet story but distractingly bad narrator

I really enjoyed the story. From the main character’s relationship to everything with the son. It melted my heart. That being said - the previous reviews are correct about the narrator being distractingly bad. She can only do 2 voices for the many characters and truly does sound robotic at times. I wish I would’ve read this book instead of listened to it.
