The last thing Lisa Edwards needed was a new dog. But when she came across an abandoned litter on Halloween, her heart went out to the runt who walked into walls and couldn't steady his feet. Lisa - healing from past abuse and battling constant pain from a chronic medical condition - saw a bit of herself in little Boo. And when he snuggled, helpless, against her, she knew he was meant to be hers.
The dunce of obedience class with poor eyesight and a clumsy gait, Boo was the least likely of heroes. Yet with his unflappable spirit and boundless love, Boo has changed countless lives through his work as a therapy dog - helping a mute six-year-old boy to speak, coaxing movement from a paralyzed girl and stirring life in a 94-year-old nun with Alzheimer's. But perhaps Boo's greatest miracle is the way he transformed Lisa's life, giving her the greatest gift of all - faith in herself.

If you could sum up A Dog Named Boo in three words, what would they be?
Touching, Uplifting, InspiringWho was your favorite character and why?
Lisa herself. She doesn't gloss over the bad things that happened to her. Her story has ups and downs and you can relate with many things that happen to her because she so openly tells about her life and the impact of Atticus, Dante and Boo.Which character – as performed by Meredith Mitchell – was your favorite?
The times she talks about SnuggaBoo/PokeyBoo and the therapy visits when Boo is able to touch others with his tendernessIf you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry!Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book and I hope Lisa continues to tell of the life she lives with her Husband and her dogs!A touching book about a special dog!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Most of the book I did enjoy because it was realistic. But after listening to the whole thing, I wonder if a more condensed version might not have been better.Would you recommend A Dog Named Boo to your friends? Why or why not?
Probably, although if you are a real fan of dogs, "A Dog's Purpose" is a much better choice.Would you listen to another book narrated by Meredith Mitchell?
This was couple of books ago and I don't remember Meridith not displaying good talents.Do you think A Dog Named Boo needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. I think the author said what she needed to say. It just could have been more concise. It is not a bad book and you definitely got to see Boo's traits. In my opinion, anyone that adopts a dog is a Saint to start of with. I have eight dogs and while five are pedigreed and I love them, they don't hold a candle to the three shelter dogs...these dogs seem to appreciate you more and love you unconditionally, but as Lisa shows you - you have to love them unconditionally too.Any additional comments?
This is a great story. It just could have been a little more condensed.Hooray For Adoption

Would you consider the audio edition of A Dog Named Boo to be better than the print version?
didn't read the printHow could the performance have been better?
I wasn't crazy about the narrator. But that didn't stop me from enjoying the book. Boo is so special and I fell in love with him part way thru the book. Which made the ending WAY too sad but I would still recommend the book. It captiviated me and I loved all the Characters. Especially Boo's siblings....Works it's way into your heart

Good old Boo! I would have preferred a different narrator, but it was well done.

If you could sum up A Dog Named Boo in three words, what would they be?
A kind women loves her husband and dogs. What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
A sensible and bittersweet ending. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
In general the theme of love and and the desire to work with the dogs as intelligent beings instead of mastering them as beasts.Any additional comments?
This could have been a great book with a bit more editing. There were times when it was repetitive and would have been improved by some of the biographical information saved for a second book. I think Lisa Edwards and her husband Laurence are to be greatly admired for being so patient with Boo. I had never heard of cerebellar hypoplasia and it is amazing how well they did by Boo in giving him what he needed. While I knew that therapy dogs were good for people, I was amazed by some of the stories she related about how effective the dogs were.I recommend this book for people who are recovering from abusive childhoods. I also recommend this book for those who love dogs or helping people with disabilities
Moving story but repetitive at times.

If you like people this is a great book, if you like dogs this is a great book but if you like people and dogs it's an awesome book!
This book offers great insight into what therapy dogs are all about. I found it especially inspiring because a special-needs dog found his way into the lives of special-needs people.
This book was well read, easily followed and very tempting. A true story of brokenness Conquered.
Inspiring and intriguing
