About this listen

Ariah Callahan was raised on tales of dragons and magic and a wonderful hidden realm. The fairytales ended when her father became estranged from her beloved uncle, and cold, hard reality set in. Surviving day to day as her father spirals into addiction and depression is all she can do. When the unthinkable happens, her uncle becomes her only hope.

Alazar Brandvold has made easygoing an art. He’s worked hard to ensure no one in the enchanted town of Nocturne Falls sees the tortured, serious soul inside the shameless gambler who is as quick with a laugh as he is to place a bet - which he invariably loses. The Firestorm dragon gets the wake-up call of his life when his Keeper comes out of hiding and shows him a treasure worth more than all the gold in his hoard.

And his race’s ancient enemy is hunting her.

He will have to risk everything in the ultimate gamble not only to claim Ariah as his lifemate, but to convince her that fairytales are real and that the damsel can save the dragon.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Loved it so much

Kira Nyte's dragon storyline is probably my favorite Nocturne Falls Universe side story. I sure hope this storyline continues. She is an amazing writer. The romance is perfect and doesn't go overboard. The supense is crazy good too.

Really loved the characters and narrator

The narrator did an amazing job with this book. I think he really captured the characters and the changes in their voices per what's going on.

The book itself is wonderful as well. The plot was interesting and I like how it was resolved. I also like who the characters start as and who they become. The descriptions were really nice too.

The author's character and world building are wonderfully believable.

Dragon meets girl who is his possible life mate. They face many challenges along with friends and family. Charming.

Enough Dragon to Feed Their Mysteries

I am a Nocturne Falls addict and dearly love all I have read with one exception. This one rates in the top 5 of my Nocturne Falls reads. The story kept in line with the others in the series but yet had a very original story line that kept me wanting to read it all in one setting but didn't do it. I have a personal health problem with stories with lots of tension, and dangerous situations and causes my blood pressure to go up. So I did have to put it aside for a bit because I was so worried about 2/3 the way in. Then I went back to it and got through it. It was GREAT. That to me tells what a wonderful story teller Kira Nyte is along with B.J. Harrison with the narrator. She made each of the characters so real like so many other characters in this series. They feel like neighbors and friends whom we care deeply about.

I am very thankful to Kristen Painter for starting this wonderful series and opening up Nocturne Falls Universe to other diverse authors who have added immensely to the whole reading enjoyment of this series. I am a huge fan.

slow and at times just boaring

i love this series but this one was long drawn out and hard to listen to at times. the narrator was great as always but the story it self was good an fit into the series but, just to many off shots and extra side fluff. I had to make myself keep listening to it. I enjoyed it for what it was but i have to say this was not my favorite.
