Publisher's summary

With his young sister Georgiana's reticence a constant reminder that his onetime friend, George Wickham, should not be trusted, Darcy decides a trip to rural Hertfordshire is in order, for both him and Georgiana. Darcy believes the people there are of so little consequence, Georgiana will know no fear in interacting with them. He soon learns he's wrong about both his sister and Hertfordshire, but not about Wickham.

Even bearing the brunt of Mr. Darcy's insult doesn't soften Elizabeth to her wife-hunting cousin, Mr. Collins, and her first reaction is to disdain both men. As the two join forces against Meryton's newest militia member, the charming Mr. Wickham, Elizabeth comes to see a different side to Mr. Darcy and Mr. Collins. Their presence in Hertfordshire, along with Mr. Darcy's other companions, will forever alter the lives of Elizabeth and those she cares for most.

Good Version

I really like how this version worked out! It was enjoyable how everyone’s situation ended up. I recommend listening to it!

So much angst.

Not a bad story, but read in such angry tones. Even the narrator sounds like she's in a bad mood.

Good book

Narration was really good, enchancing the experience, and story was enaging.
Darcy is a jerk here, but receives a set down very quickly from Richard and Georgiana.
Mr. Collins is foolish, but not a coward.
Charlotte is just great.

A good listen!

I enjoyed this variation. There were some surprises in the story. I’ve purchased numerous “Pride and Prejudice” variations on Audible. This was included in my membership. It was a worthy listen.

Excellent

I enjoyed the story very much. I have many JAFF Audible books in my library and this is one of the better ones. I like stories that are not an exact copy of the original since why would I want to read the same book over and over again? The ones that do are not my favorites. I love when the characters and situations are different and this one was fun and not angsty at all really. Not one of my favorite narrators but not so bad that it took away from the story as many others do on regrettable Audible purchases. The sound is clear and crisp, easily understood, able to discern characters. I enjoyed it.

Well written

This story begins a few years before canon. It starts with Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam visiting Rosings. What happens there affects happenings in Hertfordshire. I like the new characters I met in this story. I highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover.

Enjoyed the story, average narrator

I liked the story, the characters had enjoyable development. Some places were even funny. Didn't like the narrator so much, not so bad but could be better.

Great Rev Collins

This Rev Collins was my favorite character. He was so frightened but so brave. A really great story.

Narration

The storyline was cumbersome and narrator just missed the mark on all the characters. Monotone voice.

Too many liberties

A mess. The narrator made Elizabeth and Charlotte sound like Jennifer Coolidge. Dialogue is awful and the storyline absurd.
