About this listen

A short, angst-free novella that occurs in the months after Hunsford. Darcy, realizing his mistakes, confesses his misdeeds to Bingley earlier, even before Elizabeth has the chance to visit Pemberley. As a result, Bingley returns to Hertfordshire in June, while Darcy retreats to Pemberley to reflect on his actions.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth, who has discovered her love for Darcy, writes a heartfelt letter expressing her newfound feelings. However, she unintentionally loses the letter, which she had intended not to post, but just as a way to express what she felt.

Unexpectedly, Bingley stumbles upon the misplaced letter and, assuming it was Elizabeth's intention to have him deliver it, promptly sends it to Darcy. Although Bingley is aware that there has been a disagreement between Darcy and Elizabeth, he remains unaware of the details.

Upon receiving the letter, Darcy is filled with a mix of emotions and promptly makes his way to Hertfordshire to seek clarification and resolve their misunderstandings.

This is a short novella of around 25,000 words and is written with minimal angst, ensuring that our dear couple, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, ultimately find their happily ever after.

A good story and wonderful narration, It is a very lovely book to listen to when you need a shorter but still satisfying book.

Cute, short, and sweet.

I liked the narrator, a little slow. I had to speed it up. Spoiler alert: was sad for Mr. Bennet. Happy for my favorite couple, Elizabeth and Darcy.

Story peaks at Chapter 3

This premise is cute but unfortunately the story peaks in Chapter three and there really isn’t much of a story after that.
The narration unfortunately is overly dramatic and distracts from the cute love story.

Enjoyable low angst novella

The road to HEA is short , so we get a wonderful courtship between E&D. The way everyone finds out they are engaged is quite amusing.

If truth be told in a letter....

After Huntsford Darcy confesses to Bingley much sooner than canon. With this he returns to Netherfield and quickly makes things right with Jane. Elizabeth realizes that Darcy is the perfect man for her and pours out her feelings in a letter to him in her diary. Meaning to burn it so nobody finds it, can you guess what goes missing - yep the letter. Bingley finds it & sends it to Darcy. Darcy realizes the hope of her letter and goes to Elizabeth to confirm directly that she loves him. This is a sweet shorter story that happens fast so if you need something to fill a short amount of your time this is for you. Enjoy.

Poor narrations

The word wimpy comes to mind. The story was enjoyable, but the narrator’s voice was a distraction. It felt like she was sighing when voicing the male parts. This is the only book where I was distracted from what being said by who was reading it. Rather disappointed.

Fast and enjoyable

A fast and enjoyable read. This one will be a frequent read for myself. Sweet and no angst. Perfect for a little pick me up. The premise is not an original as I've read another similar but a completely different tale. Truly appreciated this author's talent here. The narration is lovely.

Sweet if a little clunky

The story was light and sweet, though some parts felt like they could have used a lot more editing. The narrator’s voice and delivery was excellent, but she really needs to learn how to pronounce quite a few words. This should have been fixed in production, but instead all the mispronunciations made the book seem even more sloppy.
