About this listen

Ice cream shop owner Bronwyn Crewse is in for two scoops of murder in this charming mystery from Abby Collette.

Chagrin Falls, Ohio, is gorgeous in the fall, and Bronwyn Crewse, owner of Crewse Creamery, knows just how to welcome the new season. At the annual Harvest Time Festival, residents will get a chance to enjoy hot-air balloons and hayrides, crown a new Harvest Time Festival Queen, and eat delicious frozen treats sold at Win's freshly purchased ice cream truck. But she gets into a sprinkle of trouble when a festivalgoer is poisoned and Win is implicated.

Although the victim was a former Harvest Time Festival Queen, her once-sunny disposition had dimmed into bitterness, leaving no shortage of suspects at the festival. To clear her name before the chill of winter sets in, Win will have to investigate and hope that her detective skills won't "dessert" her.

Couldn’t finish

The narrator was so robotic, and lacked so much emotion that i cant get into the story. It’s very distracting and takes away from the story. Will have to read this book the old-school way!

Just as good as the first two

I agree with others, the narrator of the first two is better but she was still okay. She actually did better with the other voices than her own but it didn't take away from the listening experience at all.

Highly Entertaining

A Killer Sundae is a well written cozy mystery with engaging characters and an entertaining plot. I look forward to the next book.

On the Fence

I stared this series with Book 3 since it was included with the 2 for 1 credit sale. I have to agree with others regarding the Narrator being a major distraction. I was looking for a cute, light hearted listen but not sure if the content was lacking or the narration was so much of a distraction that I am not sure that I will read/listen to the previous books.

Very nice read

It was a bit slow at first but I loved the character development and all the unexpected turns. Well done!

Not the Same

The story was like
the other two. It is light but suspenseful. However, the new narrator was not to my liking.

I love this series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and with this cliffhanger it sounds like there will be another! This has become my “go to” cozy when I need that kind of a story.
I do hope they go back to the narrator of the first two books though. This narrator had odd pauses, did not differentiate the characters well, and read the story robotically. She does has a nice voice though.

Great story questionable narrator. Listen in order.

I listened to the books in order and from other reviews that sounds like it was a good choice. This narrator was different and made the grandfather sound kind of creepy which is unfortunate.

Won’t be finishing

I probably won’t be able to finish due to the narrator. She’s very mechanical and takes too many pauses and over enunciates words that’s really don’t require it. The story seems to be ok so far but I don’t think I can make it past the awful reading. I even have it on 1.2 x speed to try and get the story moving and it’s not helping. What a waste of a credit.

Predictable Story and Unfortunate Narrator

It was obvious whodunit within the first 30 minutes of the story, which made the remaining 8.5+ hours of the book annoyingly torturous thanks to the stilted speech cadence of the narrator and obvious red herrings.

Also, three books in and still have not developed any love for the main characters. Is it wrong that I was hoping that the best friend would be out sick for the entirety of this book, or perhaps the next murder victim?
