Woodland realm filled with various characters
Contemporary paranormal fairytale creatures-like individuals. Zander and Magali were far apart. One satyr and the other a gargoyle. This quick crash in to how a satyr becomes king and falls in love with a protector.
The narrators has strong rich complementary voices that made for an enjoyable listen. This did come down to a little silly toward the end. One character said it just right “it’s like watching a train wreck”. I felt out of my depths, like a big part of the story was missing or at the very least connecting information.

Zander's story is amazing!
Zander and Magali are two of my favorite characters in RPA. I loved that they got their own story. The narration was great .

Magali & Zander!
Zander and Magali are magic! I really enjoyed this novella. Zander is not expecting to find love, and Magali is far off his radar. After all, she is just a gargoyle and his brother's girl's best friend. It's best to keep away from her, right? Magali is staying away from love after her last encounter, but Zander just creeps up on her! These two are meant to be. It's fast, it's fun and action packed. I loved both characters, but especially Magali. What a strong and capable woman. If you have not listened to this series, I recommend it!
The narration is spot on! Kale Williams is amazing as Zander. He brings out the strong leader he is and the passion he feels. Then Lily Ward comes in as Magali and she is brilliant. She falls into character, with her strength, her pain and her love. It's a great narration!

I LOVE Randi Cooley Wilson's writing! Beautiful Cover! A King Rises is a companion novella in the Royal Protector Academy Trilogy, a great paranormal romance, and a spin-off of the Revelation Series. Zander and Magali's story is fun, sexy, action packed, and fast-paced. Zander, a satyr, Prince of the Woodland Realm, is handsome, and flirty. Magali, a gargoyle, and Royal Protector, is strong, and protective. They share an instant attraction, and a great chemistry. The world building is well done and intriguing. Kale Williams and Lily Ward did an outstanding job with the narration. They are perfect as Zander and Magali! I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it! Looking forward to listen to the Royal Protector Academy Trilogy, and to the Revelations Series.

Remarkable Story
This was such a VERY amazing story!!
The characters were AH-MAZING!! I loved getting to know Zander and following him on his journey!! I made a real connection with him and all the other characters!!
The story-line was phenomenal!! The author did a fantastic job of keeping me wanting to listen to the story. I also loved the emotions that came out of the book and at times I found myself laughing out loud or I wanted to cry and there were some OMG moments too.
The narrators did a remarkable job making the story come to life!! The changes in the voices as they read each character made me want to listen in and pay attention. They made this story so much fun to listen to and I couldn't help but listen. Powerful voices made me love this story. I highly recommend it!!

Love me some Zander!
Loved this book! I absolutely loved Zander. Definetly a quick listen but well worth it. Great story and left me wanting more from it. This author is new to me including the narrators and did not disappoint. I need more books narrated by Kale Williams. Love his voice!

Gargoyles need I say more? If you've read the Revelations series then you know how amazing this world is and how awesome the authors books are,.
I really enjoyed this book it was fun and entertaining had a interesting story can't wait for more stories in this world.

Great short listen!
I feel like I missed out a bit having not read the other story in this series as I feel like it would have added more to the characters, but the story was a great one. I loved the balance between the two. How cocky and arrogant Zander is. How stubborn yet vulnerable Magali is. Zander is faced with difficult decisions as he tries to deal with his background and future. Magali can't understand the things that Zander has done and how he has changed. Kale Williams is a great narrator. He has a wonderful range of accents and emotions that are just a joy to listen to. Lily is a new to me narrator and she complimented Kale well. I really enjoyed this story!

Found a whole new world to escape to!
A nice introduction to a new world & new (to me) author. While a few chapters/scenes felt rushed or lacking detail I enjoyed these characters, personalities, & their world all together. I loved the paranormal vibe with gargoyle protectors, woodlands/water realms, etc. I have not ventured to a world such as this before. I would like much much more. The inclusion of the nonverbal characters & signing won even more points as I enjoy the diversity it offers. Many times authors/readers choose to depict/see such characteristics as a disability or beneath others, but this author made Magali a strong capable woman who is not lacking simply because she can not mouth speak. She definitely makes herself heard even without the vocals. Her presence demands attention & that no BS attitude even for the man she loves made me applaud her even more. Zander is definitely a hand full. We can tell this by every interaction shared. It requires a strong partner to help balance that too. His love seems like the only woman capable of doing so. Magali & Zander’s banter had me chuckling throughout the entire story. The Queen also has a few comical scenes I enjoyed reminding me of our own household. Then Tristan stepping up to be there for Zander....that scene had me snort-laughing. Parents will definitely understand. LOLz All in all, the chapters are short but offered us glimpse into a world we want to jump back into. Understandably this novella’s entire length is only 3 hrs 23 mins., but I still felt like there could have been some more added in a few areas where it seemed a bit fast forwarded. I adore the relationship in their family. There are no step-anything...just family by choice! Love love Love it!! The epilogue was greatness. I hoped there was more to come for these characters as a whole, & the direction it’s going feels right. I will be checking out audible to see what has been released for this series to continue it.
On the performance side I felt a few scenes were not flowing well as they should as the female narrator paused in places that normally speaking one would not pause. It took me a little bit to get past that annoyance. I found myself changing the speed read on her parts to help that along, but that is something I would want to have to do on a longer book if narrators are switching off a lot. Hopefully if she continues reading for this character she will get a better feel for the characters & adjust her flow accordingly.
