His attractive neighbor is tugging at his heart-strings. A wealthy widow is pursuing him with hot casseroles. And his red-haired Cousin Meg has moved into the rectory, uninvited.
As you can see, Mitford's rector and lifelong bachelor, Father Tim, is in need of divine intervention. In this beautifully crafted second novel in the Mitford series, Jan Karon delivers a love story that's both heartwarming and hilarious. Only time will tell if the village parson can practice what he preaches.
In A Light in the Window, you will find an affirmation of what some of us already know: Life in a small town is rarely quiet. And absolutely never boring.
Don't miss out on the rest of Father Tim's adventures in Mitford.©1995 Jan Karon (P)1996 Recorded Books, LLC All rights reservedListeners also enjoyed...

The narrator is perfect for this particular story because he sounds like I would expect Father Tim to sound, yet he does a great job of altering his voice to be Dooly or Cynthia or whoever.
So full of faith and love!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely yes! The Mitford series is such a wonderful journey into the world of Father Tim Kavanagh and the wonderful quirky characters in the small NC town of Mitford. It's not all hearts and flowers. It's sad, and funny, and you will want to keep visiting Mitford. What other book might you compare A Light in the Window to and why?
Deep in the Valley and the other two of this trilogy by Robyn Carr.. Another wonderful series with fabulous small characters.Have you listened to any of John McDonough’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
