Cull the masses. Enslave the survivors. Destroy America.
Jennifer Martin escaped Atlanta by the skin of her teeth. Nevertheless, terror and chaos are not confined by city limits. The unthinkable deeds she committed to get out of Atlanta have followed her back to the small town of Clayton, Georgia.
The new Federal Emergency Security Agency administrator has assigned Commander Todd Kravitz to enforce mandates in the northeastern quadrant of Georgia. He knows about Jennifer’s involvement against other FESA agents and government contractors. He has a price on her head, and will hunt her down like a rabid animal.
Coming from a relatively comfortable lifestyle, the apocalypse has been a harsh adjustment for Jennifer. She has her faith in Jesus. She has a safe place to lay low in the Appalachian Mountains. She’s surrounded by family and friends. But, she’s up against the most powerful, abusive federal agency in the history of America. Jennifer isn’t the type to be led to slaughter. If Kravitz wants a fight, Jennifer will bring it.
Courage and determination are admirable qualities. However, they’re no match against the largest security force on the planet. If she has any hope of surviving, it’s going to take a miracle.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity, and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles, and references to Scripture, this audiobook might not be for you.

In this latest installment, Jennifer Martin has made it out of Atlanta to stay with her loving father Bob. There she meets her new nemisis Todd Kravitz. She's grieving the loss of her fiance while dealing with the changes around her. Jennifer is broken, but also spoiled and headstrong. She's used to molding her world and the people within it, but now, because of the circumstances she is being molded. Her biggest fault seems to be not thinking things through to a practical end. She wants her former boyfriend who's lost an arm for her, yet rejects him constantly, putting him to the "test" as if he's a mind reader...never even considering how his loss makes him feel "less" and that he needs loving support. She decides to fight back against FESA (FEMA's military arm) but needs others to put the nuts and bolts to her plans despite reading books that should be effective in helping her analyze the situations. That would be fine if she actually stopped to "listen" to those around her. Her courage and intuition are spectacular, yet instead of asking for proof of Life when it's necessary, she blows through her leverage. That's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 on the storyline. In the next book I'm sure she'll be melded into a better leader but she's definitely going to have to go through some severely hard knocks to get there. It's a realistic portrayal of some people I've met, but they are so blithely abrasive that without YHWH'S mercy everything around them would fall apart. Of course, all of us are flawed, as was every leader/prophet in Scripture. It's a good thing YHWH is so able to use broken people!

no offense though but I do prefer him reading them than a female. the "male" voices in the book sounded mostly the same.
