Story
Elizabeth Bennet loathes insufferable Mr. Darcy. When a series of mishaps repeatedly throws them into each other’s company—first with her unconscious at Netherfield, then him injured at Rosings—Elizabeth begins to see a different side of the proud man she thought she knew. This tender, low-angst Regency variation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice proves that pride does indeed come before a fall…and that, in this case, love always comes after.

Story
Broken promises often lead to disappointed hopes and dreams and even broken hearts. Such was the aftermath of the Netherfield party’s departure from Hertfordshire on the heels of the ball. What if Mr. Darcy returns with his friend Mr. Bingley to Hertfordshire during the Christmas season? Darcy’s reasoning is sound. He simply means to be of service to his lovesick friend. There’s also the matter of wanting to protect Miss Elizabeth Bennet from his nemesis, George Wickham. What if Darcy’s true motive is of a rather more personal nature—one that he is not even aware of himself?

Story
Fitzwilliam Darcy takes his responsibilities seriously. He excels in every endeavor he pursues and upholds the highest standards, and he has little patience for those who flaunt their flaws like the Bennets do. Elizabeth Bennet longs for the toe-curling romance she reads about in novels. She dreams of an honorable man - loyal and generous to the less fortunate...everything Mr. Darcy is not.

How would the story of Pride and Prejudice be altered if Mr. Wickham had been a good man? Instead of becoming a scoundrel who regularly attempts to elope with teenage girls, Mr. Wickham studies the law as he originally told Mr. Darcy when he gave up the value of the living. After finishing his studies, Mr. Wickham finds work in Meryton with Mr. Phillips, a local solicitor and the Bennets's uncle.

A story for Mary
Wow! This is such a great audiobook/love story. Caroline Fantozzi did such a wonderful job bringing the story to life. She should do more P&P books because she would be a favorite!
From where Mary and Colonel Fitzwilliam locked eyes, I was hooked. Katelyn Rae wrote a swoon-worthy love story. I loved where the Colonel tried wooing Mary. There was precision yet so much romance in his plans.
This was a low angst clean Pride & Prejudice continuation story.

Delightful
I usually stick to Elizabeth and Darcy centered stories, so this is outside my preferred JAFF. However, I am so very glad I gave this Mary centric narrative a listen! Mary's thoughts are amusing and delightful. Her initial horror at being attracted to a "red coat" drew me in from the very beginning. Love at first sight is not something we associate with Mary, so seeing her cope with being feelings that defy her practical nature was an unexpected treat. The author keeps the story light, low angst, and engaging while building a truly lovely, swoonworthy relationship between Mary and the Colonel-- I would like to read more from her! If you are looking for a well written, low angst JAFF variation I encourage you to give this one a listen!

Delightful Mary story
I enjoy a good story about Mary. I liked the character development and dialogue. I was glad to see the author didn’t feel the need to create side stories to accommodate slipping in other P&P characters, which sometimes can be distracting and make the story drag on. This will be on my list of favorite Mary stories along with Return to Longbourn and When Mary Met the Colonel.
