A Season with Mom is a homerun!

I loved this book! A great adventure that many dream of doing but few have ever done and certainly not in one season. But the best part of this journey is not what each park offers (it’s fun to hear about the big mitt at SafeCo or the Monster at Fenway but it’s even better to see how Katie saw a lesson in each visit. Each city’s park or team or fans or MVP showed her a new perspective - one she may have shared or learned from her late mother. Written beautifully, this book is for book club junkies as much as it is for baseball fanatics. In the end you’ll be cheering for her and for yourself. It’s a fairly short read so dive in and enjoy it!

A lovely little books of letters that takes you on a grand adventure!

After losing her Mother to cancer, the author decides to fulfill the life long dream they shared, to visit all MLB ballparks in a single season. In search of perspective on their relationship and hoping to feel close to her Mother, the author sets out and writes a letter to her Mother with every ballpark, every game. Full of real stories and anecdotes about these vibrant and imperfect people, the story brings a fresh perspective on the beautiful, sometimes challenging, but ultimately influential relationships between mothers and daughters.

I loved the truth of this story, it’s a real description of real people, who were motivated, flawed, dedicated and loving. This book is about love, about loss, about Baseball and about the lessons the game can teach all of us. This clever little book is a thoughtful gift for anyone experiencing loss, a major life change, baseball fans, mothers and daughters, and really anyone who has ever felt like America’s pastime holds a special place in their hearts.

Note- the author reads the story herself which I always love because I think it lends a unique sense of the timing and tone of the story! Don’t miss out on this home run.
