About this listen

For years, Miss Felicia Murdock's every thought and action have been in pursuit of becoming a minister's wife. When the minister she'd set her sights on has other ideas, she decides something in her life needs to change - and soon - before she wastes any more time pretending to be someone she's not. If that means spreading her wings and embracing a more lively way of life, who's to say nay?

Grayson Sumner, Lord Sefton, has had more than enough of spreading his wings and only hopes to settle into the life of a respectable New York gentleman. Prompted by some friends to lift the spirits of the disappointed-in-love Miss Murdock, he is surprised to encounter an adventurous young lady with an unfortunate knack for stumbling into troublesome situations.

Just as Grayson decides he's had quite enough of her antics, his past comes back to haunt him and his presence in Felicia's life endangers her. As they work together to extricate themselves from this latest complication, will Grayson and Felicia decide they want to spend the rest of their lives keeping one another out of trouble?

Love this author’s rom-coms!

How many friends and guards does it take to keep Felicia out of danger…mostly of her own doing! I love the mishaps, misunderstandings, the banter, the friends and family who care about her. And how in the world will Grayson ever propose? There is more to this story too with the children, so precious!
Humor, love, faith, all so good! Love it and this series!!

A touch predictable but still fun

If you've read any Jen Turano books you'll probably know where this is headed after the first chapter but that doesn't diminish the fun or humor. A good cozy read. This is the 3rd audiobook with this narrator I've listened to and while I enjoy her voices all the mothers in this series have the same exact voice (which can get confusing when they are all in one scene).

Boy these ladies in this series make me laugh out loud!

I am going to miss these characters from this series. They have been so much fun getting to know. There is a theme of joy woven throughout these stories. Even in the midst of pain and suffering that some of the characters have gone through there is the peace of knowing that the Heavenly Father is there with them. Can’t wait to start the next book.

Exceptional!

Talk about romantic! I loved this story. It has layers of depth but still delivers a very fun and light hearted magic. Great character development. Wonderful use of supplemental characters without overwhelming the reader. I loved the way both of the MCs had to overcome the misconceptions about their individual pasts. I like that the backstory felt credible. I felt right along with the MCs the disappointment and shame as they recognized life was not a fairy tale but that redemption & forgiveness make it possible to move past the selfishness & mistakes in order to start a new life adventure. There was an underlining theme about God's guidance in life but more spiritual than religious. Then, about 3/4 of the way in I realized there were no sex scenes 😳 Yet it was still a touching story about falling in love with the person you least expect to. Wonderfully narrated. Highly Recommended!

Enjoyed it!

I laughed a lot. The female protagonist was definitely exasperating at times, but the pace of the story was good and there were several unexpected twists and turns to keep me engaged.

I laughed and I cried! Saint Maries, Idaho

This is a book you don’t want to listen to late at night because you can’t put it down.
The Narrator is perfect and really captures the personality of the characters.
Jen Turano is my new favorite author.
This was the perfect book to follow the story of Annabel and Theadore, however it became a but predictable but I didn’t care because it took me out of a troubled world to find laughter!
