There is a treasure high in the Colorado Rockies waiting for someone to find it. Jake Martin couldn't care less. The old miner used a copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as a key to his coded message, and the real murderer wants that edition so bad, he's willing to kill for it. Can the amateur sleuths decode the message and stop the murderer, or have Jake and Fred finally met their match?

Narrator has a gift for comedic timing, which conveys the author's tongue-in-cheek humor with great aplomb. In the tradition of great mystery writers, there are several suspects, some added, some cleared as the story progresses, but no clear "winner" until the very end. Woven into the story is the strong thread of true friendship, between people, as well as with a clever and lovable canine. A delightful. story, very well performed.
