Publisher's summary

In the California coastal town of South Cove, Jill Gardner, owner of Coffee, Books, and More, discovers that wedding planning can be murder . . .

Hustling her fiance off to a neighboring tourist town might be the only way Jill Gardner can plan her nuptials to South Cove's in-demand police detective. But when a mystery man turns up dead at South Cove's PD, Greg is hightailing it back home to investigate, leaving Jill to finish the vacation solo.

Jill can barely get in a spa day before her own respite is spoiled by a greedy hotel guest and unexpected revelations about Max Winter, the developer conniving to buy her home out from under her. Then there's the staffing issues at the store, the strange men seen lurking about town, and an aggressive and obnoxious family member harassing Jill's beloved employee. It's enough to make the bride-to-be full of jitters . . . especially when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer . . .

Gregg is to hot and cold for me

I love the series but Gregg is getting to hot and cold for me. He gets made if she gets involved but then asked her to get involved. He gets upset when she stumbles into situations.

Fun story

Very much liked the characters new and old.
Did NOT like the performance- very choppy and staccato delivery.

I love this series!

Think Gilmore Girls but with a better set of characters and toss in a mystery. I am about to listen to it all again because I just want to be part of Coffee Books and More's friends. And Susan Boyce is AMAZING at narration! She gives each character their own sound and brings them to life.

Another winning storyline

Loved this story line. Even had me chuckling at the banter. So many suspects to eliminate. And a new tenant. Hoping Ms. Cahoon has the next book at the publishers.

Another great book in the series!

Great book! I love this series and this book fit right in. It was written well, showing the growth of the established characters and introduced new info about newer characters. At the same time it made you feel nice and welcome to be visiting your friends in South Cove again.

I love books like this! Only one problem, I am greedy and want more. This is a sign of a good, no great author. Keep up the good work, Lynn Cahoon!!!

Less snooping more real

Less exciting than previous ones. An enjoyable read. I liked the inner workings of the bookstore, but would have liked Jill to have been more of a detective and less of a reporter.

Inconsistencies, but still enjoyable

There are several story inconsistencies such as Aunt Jackie’s owning a successful coffee shop when Jill reaches out in book one to then her backstory changed to working as a waitress in a cafe and raising Jill all by herself. There are several others, really too many to list, but over all it is forgiven because the stories are enjoyable and the characters likable (Aunt Jackie being my least favorite, but still, you can tell she loves Jill)
