About this listen

Aimee Osborne has always looked forward to the Christmas holidays in the 21st century, where she grew up. Now that she lives in the primitive wilderness of 19th-century Yellowstone, she is determined to hold on to some of her traditions.

Daniel Osborne is unfamiliar with many of the customs and beliefs his wife grew up with. Although he doesn't understand her enthusiasm for the holiday, he shares in her joy of the season, and plans to make each Christmas with her memorable.

For Aimee and Daniel, this holiday season might not be the joyous event they hoped for. When an unexpected package arrives at their doorstep, Aimee's plans for the festivities this year might not go off as she envisioned.

When danger threatens his family, Daniel will do what it takes to protect them, and perhaps bring some peace and joy to more than just his wife and children.

A quick and loving read!

A nice little story to send me to the next yellowstone book in the series. Love that I get to revisit characters to see what they are up to.

Love this novella

This was a perfect follow-up to Yellowstone Heart Song, showing the lives of Aimee & Daniel a few years down the road from where Heart Song left off. I enjoyed the new characters that were brought into the story. This was a very quick read/listen and I'm looking forward to my next book, also by Peggy L Henderson!

Quick but exciting story

The story is short but gives you a nice look at the time between Yellowstone Heart Song and Redemption. There is action, it's not just a happy story about Christmas. You only need to have read Heart Song to understand the characters, but the entire series is recommended!

I'm sorry but I don't like Alexandra's narration. Her regular voice is fine, but her character voices are terrible.

Wonderful Historic Detail in a Warm Story

Aimee is a modern day nurse who has settled two hundred years in the past. She chose to remain with mountain man, Daniel, in the Yellowstone wilderness. They are raising their three young sons in a secluded cabin. Aimee has insisted on her modern day tradition of selecting a fresh tree and decorating their Christmas tree with homemade decorations.

The little family enjoys a fun tracking adventure on the way to pick their tree. However, when they return home they are alarmed to find a newborn infant on their doorstep. Aimee and the boys take the babe inside while Daniel heads out to track the mother. After he returns Daniel and Aimee try to uncover the story from the reluctant mother. She appears to be of one tribe but wearing clothes from another.

Danger comes to their home while Daniel and his tribe brother are out. Now Daniel must do more tracking to protect his family. Two other tribes are involved in the conflict to be resolved. Meanwhile the family members hope they will be able to decorate their tree and share in Christmas blessings.

This is a warm Christmas novella, with love, action, mystery and danger. I enjoyed the easy style of the story and I loved the historic details which are a distinct and wonderful element. I enjoyed meeting the characters in this quick listen and look forward to reading/listening to more from this series.

Audio Notes: Alexandra Haag does a nice job narrating. The voices of the characters flows easily and the overall presentation is direct and engaging.

Great short story

I really enjoyed this primitive Christmas story! The way it starts out as a mystery was pretty exciting to me!

I Love this book!

What made the experience of listening to A Yellowstone Christmas the most enjoyable?

i love this book and have read it a couple of times. i've listened to another of alexandra's narrations for yellowstone headstrong, really enjoyed it and thought i would give this one a try. i don't usually listen to books, as i prefer to read, but occasionally i am doing something that i decided it would be nice to listen to a something other than the radio
about the book: this story is amazing. it is a short story about aimee and daniel from yellowstone headstrong. i love the continuing story about their family. i highly recommend the entire yellowstone series. after that read the teton series, second chance series and blemished brides. peggy henderson is an amazing author and i love each and every book. i love the continuing family stories throughout the series. i love the beautiful and well written stories that do not fall into cliche romance ruts like so many romances do. some are western historical and some are time travel. i love both!
about the narration: listening to a woman was different for me. i'm a little crazy and don't care for women dh's or most woman singers. at first, alexandra was a bit difficult for me to get used to. as i warmed up to her voice, i came to love the way she narrates. she does the voices beautifully. the reading is smooth and pleasant. i had a hard time with daniel's voice because it's not the way i hear his voice in my head! but, hey, she didn't know that! i would certainly listen to more books narrated by her!

What about Alexandra Haag’s performance did you like?

she switches between the different characters flawlessly. has different voices for the diffent people and it works well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

of course!

What a Great Series

This book was as good as the 1st in the series.

. Short but well written. Giving you an idea of what it must have been like 9ver 200 years ago in Yellowstone. Can't wait for next book.

Highly Recommend

If you could sum up A Yellowstone Christmas in three words, what would they be?

Adventure! Family! Heartwarming!

What about Alexandra Haag’s performance did you like?

I loved listening to Alexandra narrating this audio. I was swept along into the story and was comfortable with the way she used her voice with each of the characters. I usually do not care for female narrators, but this is the third audio I've listen to her narrate and enjoyed. I'm looking forward to listening to her again.

Any additional comments?

A Christmas story centered around Daniel, Aimee and their family. Even though it is a novella, it is a nice addition to the Yellowstone Series. Just long enough to get to revisit with some of my favorite characters in the Series and see how they celebrated Christmas. Add a little danger, what else would you expect back in Yellowstone in the 1800's, fun and romance and you have a wonderful story for now and at Christmas. I enjoyed it now and will be enjoying again. You can enjoy this as a stand alone, but the whole Series is wonderful to listen to. JudyE

Lame

Narrator was definitely not my favorite. Story was lame & predictable. This may have been a children’s book.
I finished it because I could not reach the off button.
