Publisher's summary

Aaron isn’t looking for love, but it finds him–and it has a few surprises in store....

A laidback man who goes with the flow

Aaron is happy for his friends who’ve found love, but he’s starting to feel as if he’s an endangered species–a single guy. Not that he’s looking for anyone. But if someone were to turn up, he figures they would be female, younger than his 27 years, and as disinterested as he was in searching for a soul mate.

He’s about to get it wrong on most counts.

Working in the Acadia National Park, he meets all kinds of people, like that painter he met the other day. A quiet guy, but he certainly made an impression. Because for some reason, Aaron can’t get him out of his mind.

A bruised soul seeking inspiration

Dean has picked up his paintbrush again. A famous artist who’s spent the last couple of years producing book illustrations under a different name, he’s come back to Maine seeking inspiration–and leaving the past behind him. The glorious natural beauty breathes new life into him, and it brings with it a new friend, a handsome ranger, the only person Dean has felt a connection to in a long time.

But when that connection unexpectedly becomes physical and Dean’s emotions get entangled, he fears history is about to repeat itself.

He’s not about to let his heart be broken a second time.

A great story!

Aaron’s awakening was a delight to listening!!! Aaron and Dean are great characters. Aaron is a park ranger working in the Arcadia National Park, he loves his job and he is happy for his friends they have found love, but he is starting to feel a little jealous of them, but he isn’t looking for someone and he thinks that he would end up with a woman he is happy being single. Fate is about to prove him wrong. One day he meets a painter and for some reason he can’t stop thinking about him.

Dean is an artist who lost his spark a couple of years because of a betrayal, moving to Maine has inspired him to picked up his paintbrush again and he feels like he is home again and wants to leaving the past behind. Meeting Aaron he feels a connection he hasn’t feel in a long time.

I like the story between Aaron and Dean, I enjoyed listening John Solo narrating the story!!! He did a great job performing this audio! It was great listening Aaron and Dean together and become friends and share that amazing chemistry and later become lovers, I like everything about this story, I love when all the previous characters are together and the banter between all of them! They are a riot!!! Aaron and Dean are so adorable and sweet! Of course this two have some great sexy times!! Highly recommended!

100% Fluid

This is Maine Men Book 6, Dean and Aaron's story.
I give this one ***** 5 stars. I love all the characters, the main ones as well as the secondary one. They kept my work day flowing..

This entire series has kept me captivated. I love all the characters and patiently wait for Book 7. it should be an epic read.

Dean and Aaron became fast friends. They were comfortable with each other from the get go, always found things to do and places to go together. Their chemistry was instant.
I was a bit thrown by Aaron's acceptance to frolicking with Dean, by I can understand. The mind, body, soul, heart knows what it wants. in this world, life is w by at you make it. I believe that we all are not 100% straight.

As I listen to the narrated read this book, I couldn't help but to think thus book was meant for him..... it fitted him to a T.....

KC keep the good work, looking forward to see what's in store for the other two secondary characters who really need their story told.

Aaron and Dean

Aaron's Awakening is Book 6 in the Maine Men series. I love this series as each of the friends finds their person. This is a wonderful addition to this series. Aaron was the straight friend, or so he thought. Dean, an artist, finds himself in Maine in need of inspiration. Aaron happens upon Dean while he's outside painting. They build a friendship that slowly turns into so much more. I love Aaron's mom and how excepting she is of her son. I love how excepting Aaron is of himself. He doesn't let the fact that Dean is a man deprive him of happiness. Aaron and Dean are really great together. I'm glad Aaron found his person and I love seeing the others around also. The tease at the end of the book has me ready for the next one. I can't wait. Those two really need their happy ending. I definitely recommend this book and series.
Narrator John Solo does another amazing job. I've really enjoyed listening to him throughout this series. He continues to be a favorite.

Love Finds a Way

Book 6 Is the continuation of the Maine Men series on which it revolves around Aaron & Dean John Solo as the narrator once again fascinates and delights me with his gift.

This was a sweet and  funny story of Dean and Aaron who became friends first then slid right into love.  K.C. has a fantastic gift of writing stories about friendship, love and happiness with finding the real you and love when you weren't looking for it.

Aaron's Awakening

Aaron’s story is the latest book in the Maine Men series. This is a sweet and endearing story about finding love. Another man from the group has found what could be their happy ever after. Neither Aaron nor Dean are looking for anything but friendship. Yet love has different plans for these two men. I enjoyed being along for the ride as Aaron begins to do some self-reflection and figure out just who he is. It was nice to see the friendship that Aaron has with Dean grow and deepen. Love sneaks up on these two and they both must take a deep look at themselves if they want to move on to the future. Not only do we get to see Aaron and Dean find their way, but we also get to see the group connecting and bringing Dean into the fold. I am glad that another man from the original group has found his happy ever after. I love each time we get to see these friends all get together and the way they all care and support each other. Once again narrator John Solo does a great job of bringing the emotions out in the characters and pulling the listener into the story.

Sooo good 🥰

I loved this book, it was a great balance in the series and the two MCs were sweet and cute 😍 Their relationship developed slowly and surprised them how it changed from what they planned at the beginning 😉 ...and seeing the other couples from previous books and the whole groups interactions was so great ...and very funny 😁

A Romance to Charm Your Heart! Fantastic Story🎧📚🎧

K.C. Wells’ Maine Men series is one of my favorite series and I do not have just one reason I have eight and that is not including the author’s wonderful writing style. Those eight reasons are: Levi, Noah, Aaron, Ben, Dylan, Finn, Seb, and Shaun, a group of friends who have bonded over the years. These characters are amazing and so are their stories, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and fall for too. Each book features a different lead character, one of those Maine men, and since they are all friends, they reappear in each other’s books as well, but the books stand on their own and everything you need to know is in the descriptive details so you never feel lost or as if you are missing something, but seeing the other characters are like seeing old friends if you have read or listened to the earlier books. This book is Aaron’s story, and I loved we got to see more of the Maine men gatherings again and the group has expanded to include the significant others and new found loves from the first five books, so now they are up to thirteen. Aaron, the one straight guy of the group, has watched his friends find their soul mates, but he has not found that for himself and has given up on finding love but he soon learns love will come when he least expects it and not how or who he expected. Dean, an artist, was heartbroken when his lover burned him not only by leaving him for a woman but by saying he was just an experiment. He also lost his muse and his desire to paint that day. A couple of years have passed, and he finally thinks he is ready to paint again and goes to Maine for inspiration. Dean, an artist, was heartbroken when his lover burned him not only by leaving him for a woman but by saying he was just an experiment. He also lost his muse and his desire to paint that day. A couple of years have passed, and he finally thinks he is ready to paint again and goes to Maine for inspiration. While exploring the landscape, he meets the park ranger and starts chatting it up with him. He felt an instant connection to him, though it was disappointing to learn he was straight, but the two continued to spend time together as friends. Aaron feels the connection and starts to question his sexuality, and the two have an open dialogue about it. Dean thinks he learned his lesson about getting involved with a straight man from his past relationship, but Aaron is not his ex. This is a beautifully written and plotted story that has a perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. K.C. Wells, thank you for another wonderful story that just charmed my heart.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, John Solo continues to do an amazing job bringing these characters and their stories to life. His portrayal of the characters is exceptional, as are his character voices, which have been consistent throughout the entire series. He sets the perfect tone for the story and his pacing is spot on. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to and his narration enhances an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Sweet bisexual awakening romance!!

Really enjoyed the nuanced, thoughtful writing and the way the MCs grew throughout the story. Aaron and Dean are both wonderfully threedimensional characters, and they feel very genuine and authentic.
Dean and Aaron become friends first, lovers later, which really fits them. Seeing them start to fall for each other, even when it wasn’t part of the plan, was lovely. There’s a tiny bit of angst as they struggle with the self-imposed parameters of their relationship and yearn for more while being in doubt as to where the other stands. Loved that! I also really liked how Dean’s painting was woven into the story and how it reflected his personal journey.
The outward similarities between Lyle, Dean’s ex, and Aaron are understandably cause for concern for Dean, and I loved him for not judging Aaron based on Lyle’s behavior and for trusting Aaron and judging him on his own merits.
The secondary characters, most of them the MCs from the previous books in the series, were of course wonderful and very well-rounded. They are a big part of why all the books in this series feel so heartwarming and cozy. The new secondary characters, Dean’s entourage, were great as well, although I’d have loved to have a bit of a word with Ash and Jon at some point—well-meaning busybodies! Grammy is feisty and loving; she really stands out. Love her! I am also left in dire need of Levi’s story. Need it. Want it. Now. Please and thank you.

John Solo's narration was wonderful as always! He's such a gifted performer. I truly enjoyed listening to his interpretation of the characters and story. He made Aaron and Dean sound so real! I loved the emotion, vulnerability and authenticity he brought to both of the MCs' voices. He also did a great job keeping true to all the secondary characters, just amazing!
