A guilty pleasure!

Great listen, you really get to know and either love or hate the characters. It's a long spanning story that makes you feel as though you know this family yourself. It was a pleasure to listen to.

OK, but can't stand the narrator.

Would you try another book from Tilly Bagshawe and/or Barbara Rosenblat?

I could try another Bagshawe, but never ever a Rosenblat again. I could hardly concentrate on the story.

I loved it

I really enjoyed all the characters in the book and think that it deserves more stars!!!! I wouldn't listen to it with my children either but it made "my" day!

Decent book, her others are better

This book does read like a cleaner Jackie Collins - which I'm fine with - but others might not be so into it. It is kind of a saga and you want to take Sienna and shake her for her selfishness and stupidity.

What I REALLY don't like about this book, is the production and narrator. The long awkward pauses are bad, but you can hear every breath and EVERY swallow of the reader. It's like nails on a chalk board, every three words she takes this big, loud swallows and when she is ready, her mouth sounds sticky. I can't tell if she needs a drink of water, has a jolly rancher in her mouth or has a very "wet" sounding mouth. It creeps me out and made this otherwise decent book, very annoying.

The quality is just not here for such a long read.

Good listen. Narrator is unfairly bashed

Tilly's Sindey Sheldon series are always better than her stand alone books but this is definitely worth a listen. I was definitely engaged the whole time. Also, the narrator in my opinion was just fine and got unfair reviews saying she wasn't. She did accents and distinct voices the way a good narrator would. The audio book overall was classic Tilly.

Distracting Narration

The only problem I had with this book was that the narrator kept stopping to swallow almost like she had too much saliva in her mouth and it drove me to distraction. I love really long books because it makes them worth buying and this story was a good one. I highly recommend for anyone that is a Sidney Sheldon fan.

Narrator sucks!!!

The book is great and entertaining. But I'd rather read it than listen to the narrator's disgusting saliva gulping sounds... How is it possible?

Couldn't stop listening to it

I lost sleep because I couldn't stop listening to Adored. The characters are all well developed and you really get involved in all the dysfunctional hollywood drama. There are characters you'll hate and others you'll really root for. The main character Sienna is a mixed bag. She's selfish and vulnerable. You get to know her family and understand her motivations. If you want to lose yourself in a glitz and glamor story spanning 3 generations of a mega Hollywood family then read this. I read the reviews about the slurping and was a little concerned. While there is a little bit of saliva noise, it really wasn't enough to deter me from finishing this book. In fact, other than the occasional slurp - ha ha ha - i think the narrator did a great job going back and forth between all the characters.
