About this listen

This is not your average EMP story. Enemies of America use unique weapons that destroyed one-third of the US population in just a few short hours. Journey with Sandi, an average conservative mom, who clings to God and her guns to protect all those she loves. With little time to prepare, most families have only a week's supply of food. Preppers have a bunker. Sandi doesn't have a bunker. Adventure with this housewife as she struggles against danger, adversity, and lawlessness - to survive a new normal. The question that keeps her up at night?

Will America return to its foundations or become a by-word among nations?

loved it!!

I absolutely loved the first book "After the waves" I can't wait for book 2 and 3. The storyline and how Sandi is such a strong Christian woman really kept me involved. I hope the author continues to write more books like this. I would gladly purchase any she writes!

A good post apocalypse story w/ female perspective

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A great post apocalyptic series. I liked that the story is told from a strong female lead. She has strong religious beliefs, but I didn't feel like that detracted from the story. All in all, a good story that is well narrated. I'll definitely move on to the next book in the series.

Really exciting, couldn't put it down. Can't wait

This was a very realistic portrayal of how people in a small town might really react when doomsday comes. It's not just a guy with a gun and a dog, but from a housewife's perspective. Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy. I am bored easily, but the first chapter had me hooked.

Great book but two minor editorial mistakes

Akiane, the artist referenced in the story, is Lithuanian, not Ukrainian. Also Catholics are Christians, they are not an offshoot of Christianity. Aside from these two editorial mistakes the book is fantastic because the characters are so real. They remind me of many people I've known.

After the Waves

This is a light version of an end of the world book.

Sandi is a prepper at heart, having supplies stashed before the wave hit. When she hears the news she jumps into action to prepare for the worst and care for her family all the while keeping a positive outlook.

Written in first person from a woman's perspective, lends a different view to the story. Sandi is a planner and a doer who prays often. This is definitely a Christian book, which for some may be a turn off, but many will find it enjoyable.

Jennifer Groberg adds elements of excitement to her voice as she reads this story which is good. However, she doesn't have much variation in character voices which makes it a bit difficult to distinguish when someone else is talking, male or female.

Excellent Book

Great book and great addition to your library. I love that the main character is a woman! She is a wife, mother, prepper, home schooler and an all around badass woman! She is smart, crafty and resourceful. The narrator brought the characters to life and I quickly became engrossed with them and their lives. I listened to most of this book in 1 setting . The author did a great job creating tge characters and the plot. I also love that tge author ends the world in a totally new way! No EMP's for this author which made the book all the more interesting. Can't wait to start the second book!

A new and exciting series

Would you listen to After the Waves: Will America Stand or Fall again? Why?

Yes. In the first book of the new series the story centers around a family like many others. The issues that the book raises are worth hearing again. How would you react if you knew that an earthquake , fire or Mt St Helens event was 30 minutes away?

What was one of the most memorable moments of After the Waves: Will America Stand or Fall?

It may sound trivial but it was shopping for needed items from food to bandages. A family has to split up to get it all done and children are called to action

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Groberg – was your favorite?

The mother. She seemed very organized and used lists either written or in her head on what to do. Not easy to fluster she did a lot in little time due to her organization

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did . In fact I listened to it twice. Its not overly long a few long walks over a week and I listened to it

Any additional comments?

I look forward to the 2nd book

I was given the book to review by the author. The thoughts are my opinions after listening to many audiobooks as an avid listeners

OK, I liked it

What I really liked about this book is it took a while to get to all the distraction. It wasn't like boom tidal wave everything with the crap within 24 hours. I also like how Took some time with getting prepared for everything to happen. I enjoy reading about how people prepare and get ready for the big event once they know it's happening.
This story takes place in California. It's a bit scary to read since I live in California.
So it's states that it's a religious book, it is really not preachy. May have a few things here and there the whole book is not centered around their religion.

Jennifer did a good job narrating this. She seemed a bit new to me but other than that she didn't great job.
