Publisher's summary

In this bundle, I've included the first three books and a short story bonus - "When Jack Met Diane". Find out how the leading characters met and started their journey together.

Book 1: It Has Begun

Could you survive a post-apocalyptic world?

Jack and Diane were two average Americans living in small towns, or so it seems. Jack is a prepper and has been most of his life. The day started out like any other; Diane and Jack started their morning routines and equipped their every day carry items. Survival is for the prepared.

But when disaster strikes the United States, Jack's lifetime of preparing will be put to the test. Grabbing his two dogs and their bugout bags, the duo must escape their hometowns and find a safe place to seek shelter. What really happened, and will Jack's years of prepping be enough to keep them all safe?

Find out why this made best seller!

Book 2: Diggin In

The follow up to the best seller has arrived!

Continue the journey of Jack and Diane as they navigate the new reality. With more attacks, the duo and Jack's group decide this is not a one-off attack.

It's time to dig in and prepare for what's coming next. Meet new characters and find out what the terrorists planned next.

Diggin In has more action, more dialogue, more characters, and intrigue.

Book 3: Summer's End

Two months have passed since Jack dug in. Jack and Diane offer to help Robin find her family as new threats emerge close to home and in far-off lands.

The country is still without power and the coming winter will be brutal. Jack’s group is prepared, but how will everyone else make it through a cold winter?

Summer’s End has more action and new characters as Jack and Diane expand their reach.

Start the journey today.

Enjoyable, I want to finish the journey!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I enjoyed these books. The narrator on book one was not the best to listen to, but he was replaced and the rest was much easier and pleasant to listen to. The overall story was very good. It had a realistic story line. The main characters were very likable. I found the series so far very enjoyable and I will be looking forward to joining Jack and Diane on their journey ahead.

Incomplete book chapters

It is disheartening to have to wait extended periods if time between chapters to complete a book.

This is a really fantastic book.

I really enjoyed this one. It reminded me a little of seeing Red Dawn as a kid (the Swayze version of course). The characters were great and the story moved pretty quickly without seeming rushed. I really liked the way the world view is played out. It makes for a nice change of pace from the same old tropes of the "collase" genre. Also the main character isnt too gung-ho or badass. Hes just a mostly competent kid who is stuck in his circumstances and he does the best he can without being perfect or always making the right choices. All in all it's a great read and worth a credit.

Some things that put me off:

Some of the charachters die (not really a spoiler since he mentions it in the first chapter) but it was hard to care about most of them because they didnt have very much depth. They felt like they were red shirts in an old star trek episode.

The main character thinks about weird relationship stuff a lot. I guess I've never been a teen in a life or death situation, so maybe this is realistic, but it seems like he has bigger fish to fry.

But dont let that scare you away. The book(s) on the whole is a great read.

I recieved this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A realistic look at a realistic disaster.

The disaster in which Kevin Barry McGuire is a very plausible attack that could happen on American soil. The book follows a prepped and his friends as they find ways to survive in a world post electronics and infrastructure.

The story was a bit rough around the edges but I enjoyed it. Generally, I'm not a fan of realistic disaster fiction but I did find that I liked the characters McGuire wrote.

The narrators of the books were also a little rough. some of their narrations were a little stilted.

I think it's a good story and worth a listen if you're interested in realistic disaster/post-apocalyptic stories.

dystopia

I loved the first book I listened to and I was happy that I had the next two without doing anything. However, books two and three need a little work. I did not believe in Diane after what she did. I found it really hard to believe. It felt like she changed personality all of a sudden. I also felt like we were missing a few scenes of course these are novellas so we can't get everything we want. Other than this it is a really good bundle. I did listen to it from beginning to end. If there are any more in this series then I would definitely listen/read it.

Survival of the prepared

I was provided this audiobook free in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this story a lot. I liked it enough that I wanted much more. Even though it is 3 books in one recording I found it too short. It was over too fast.

I liked most of the characters. The villains could have been painted in greater detail. The narrator in book 1 was not great.

Overall it's thumbs up. I will keep an eye out for more.

Short Post-Apocalyptic

I love Post-Apocalyptic listens without zombies and wished it was longer. Enjoyed the characters of Jack and Diane and their dogs Mercedes/Basha. They move into his cabin and start to prepare for their survival. There are new characters thru the 3 short books so likable a couple not so nice. Recommend is you enjoy short Post-Apocalyptic

pleasant read

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a nice story in that it was realistic and believable. I thought the narrator of the first book was very dry and reminded me of a non fiction tv show narrator. But the person that performed the remaining books was easy to listen to.
