About this listen

Jonathan Grave finds it hard to believe that a fellow combat vet has gone rogue, killing American agents and leaking sensitive intel to hostile foreign interests. With black ops assassins on the trail of his old friend, Grave sets out to get to him first. He finds far more than he bargained for. Not only the wily operative but evidence of a conspiracy so dangerous, so far reaching, that an unthinkable tragedy is in motion. Grave and his elite team of specialists must expose a deadly high-level secret - and do it in time to avert a catastrophe of historic proportions.

Not as good as previous books.

John Gilstrap is usually one of my favorite writers. I especially like his books about Victoria Emerson.

I hadn't checked the reviews before I read this book. I was struggling to get through the book which is unusual. Now I have seen I wasn't the only one who didn't like this book.

Jolaine from a previous book is working with them. They don't like what she is doing but there is no explanation of why she is not following their lead.

Accurately portrays current environment

Well written and realistic. Agree regarding Jolene. Box is my fav and several times his response made me laugh aloud. Scott”s narration makes the book. Can’t wait to listen to next book.

Basil narrates an entire cast of characters

Gilstrap writes a compelling story. A Writer who knows what he is saying, writes without those back to reality " what did he say" sections. a fast enjoyable listen .

Then Basils narration matches the author in depth of knowledge....highly recommend.

Better & Better

Each book in the series has gotten better and better. The writing, the story, and the performance. They're very compelling listens and you can't help but pre-order the next book before you finish the current one.

It wasn’t my favorite from the series, but it was entertaining enough to finish the book.

My least favorite in the series

I typically like this series; however in this installment Gilstrap failed to make his characters, especially Jonathan, engaging and likeable. This book can easily be skipped and you wouldn't miss much as far as the series goes. If you are a diehard fan of the series, pick it up when it goes on sale. I honestly felt it was a waste of a credit.

Love the series

Love the series. Good characters and story. Laugh out loud at big guy often. Disappointed though that girl went off the res. I liked the character arc and someone for big guy. Wish that had been written differently.
