About this listen

Abandoned by new husband, James, Agatha Raisin hops on a plane to the South Pacific in the hope that an idyllic holiday will bring some consolation. There, she befriends a honeymooning couple but, tragically, the young bride is accidentally drowned. Returning home to the Cotswolds, Agatha finds herself involved in a strangely similar situation - a woman, dressed in a wedding gown, is found floating in the river. The police say suicide, but Agatha sets out to prove them wrong.

Disco Detective

It is highly unusual to arrive at book #12 in a series and enjoy reading that one more than any of the previous titles! But that is precisely what has happened to me. If you enjoy a good murder mystery with romance brewing around the edges, and always feel like you want a little bit more after the actual mystery is solved… You have found a perfect read for yourself! Being from the USA, I listen to this series exclusively on Audible because I enjoy hearing the accents, and recommend it if you are not an owner of such accents.

a wonderful series

This is a great series which I have spoken about before. The series continues to grow in its story introducing new characters to bulk out the back story and add layers and texture to future stories.

Top Notch!! Great Narration and story!

Penelope Keith is fabulous in narrating this great little winding mystery. Agatha is Agatha, wonderfully inventive and curious as usual. Charming!

Love M.C. Beaton, Penelope and Agatha

M.C.Beaton is a witty author. Her characters are fallible and easy to relate to. I love how Ms. Beaton is able to flesh out each person’s strong and weak points and uses those characteristics to draw you into the story.
As far as Penelope Keith’s narrating , I think she does a wonderful job. If she doesn’t get every single accent correct ~ well gosh~ I would love to see someone who could master every single accent on the planet. Why should that even matter. She is able to do so many voice changes, it is marvelous and it makes listening to the book while I work very entertaining. So in summation, M. C.Beaton is a wonderful and gifted author and Ms. Penelope Keith is a very talented narrator.

More with Agatha's self esteem issues

This book in the series seemed somewhat shorter than others I have read. Still entertaining.

Wonderful story

Great reader! Penolpe Keith played Portia in Rumpole of the Bailey. A very memorable performance it was, too.
