Publisher's summary

To save the galaxy, a dead hero must rise again!

Jonathan Bland is a Decider, empowered by the emperor himself to deal with the inevitable crises of an empire. In the service of the empire, he has killed more people than anyone in the history of humanity, to save a hundred times as many. He died centuries ago, but they reactivate his recorded personality whenever a new threat appears. When the crisis is over, they expect he will meekly return to oblivion.

He has other ideas.

I like it so much I 've read it more than once.

I bought this book originally as part of the Kickstarter and enjoyed it immensely. The progenitor of Traveller weaves a tale of political, intrigue and necessity.

In fact, when I found out that the book was published in the mainstream, I bought the audiobook again, so I could listen to it in the Audible reader.

Came here for traveller, stayed for the story.

I chose this story to get more background in the Traveller RPG setting, but I really enjoyed the book. Listening to the author play with the concept of the story's premise was really enjoyable.

Huge Traveller Fan here!

please, someone inform the narrator that the word: Marquis is pronounced: MAR - KEY.
Sheesh, that drove me insane.
This novel is a fantastic homage to Traveller fans everywhere. it's a bit slow in parts, but overall, tells a wonderful story.

Traveller Gamers Delight

Agent of the Imperium's plot is not character driven but rather is a loving space epic written for fans of Traveller the classic 20th Century science fiction role playing game that rivaled Dungeons and Dragons in the early 80s and continues strongly today with on line gamers. The unabridged format makes for a tough listen because Marc uses UPC codes for all the worlds and it gets monotonous if you are unfamiliar. Add to that the narrator's style is almost a droning monotone and non Traveller fans will quickly quit listening. However, Traveller gamer fans will enjoy the storyline which covers an expanse of the universe familiar to all. It has politics of the Imperium and nearly all aspects of Traveller starship ops and oddities. I enjoyed it but it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Science fiction at its best!

This book caught me by surprise. It has a very interesting concept, and it extrapolates from there in unexpected and interesting directions. It seems a bit disjointed at first, but everything comes into focus as the story progresses. Watching the character grow and evolve to the point where he makes his final decision of the story was extremely satisfying. My highest recommendation!

Word salad, not a real story.

I'm baffled as to how this managed to get published. "Agent of the Imperium" reads like a hallucinating AI compilation.

different...very different

I listened to it, but I really don't know what the plot was. I'm not even sure there was a plot. It was well written. That is, it sounds nice when you listen to it. There is good character development. I just don't know what it was about. It seemed like a bunch of connected short stories based on a common character and a common theme,
