Book 2 in the Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series

The mysterious "Reverend Johnson" is at it again: trying his hand at finding people who are at the end of their rope, desperately needing him to step in to give them a second chance at happiness.

Delaney Goodman has been running from her painful past all her life. Dreams of working with horses have long been replaced with the reality of doing anything to make ends meet. About to hit rock bottom, she accepts a stranger's proposition, even if it sounds too good to be true. She figures she has nothing, not even her dignity, to lose. She awakens in an unfamiliar setting - and century - and quickly discovers that she will need more than her charm to complete the task assigned to her.

On the surface, Tyler Monroe has everything going for him - good looks, the respect of his friends and neighbors, and a thriving horse ranch. However, his past holds deep wounds with thick emotional scars. When a brazen, beautiful woman arrives in town, Tyler makes an impulsive decision that will make him question everything he knows.

Tyler is unlike any man Laney has ever met. Laney is exactly the kind of woman Tyler wants to avoid. As the attraction between them grows, questions arise that stretch the boundaries of trust for both. The secrets that threaten to tear them apart could be exactly what Tyler and Laney need to bring them together.

Great book

I don't do many reviews because I'm terrible at it but this was such a good book. I don't listen to as many books as I read because I have to enjoy the narrator's voice and usually I don't. I love listening to Cody D Roberts narrate. His voice is smooth and makes me relax to enjoy the book.
I've got so many of Peggy L Henderson's books. She's my favorite author. She's such a talented lady and lives her life doing a lot of things like the pioneer did. Great Book!!!!!!

Great

This book left me wishing I'd just watched the movie. Fortunately, the narrator is so perfect for it and the writing is so good, that it's easy to feel like I really did just watch the movie.

I think it's a great portrayal of what life would be like if any one of us was thrown back in time to 1872. Imagine all the things you wouldn't know how to do suddenly. Simple things like cooking and cleaning could become elaborate tasks. Sickness couldn't be treated easily, and there weren't even bathrooms!!

Delaney had a rough life in current times, and gets her second chance. Tyler is used to the rough life of 1872 ranching but nothing could have prepared him for the arrival of a 21st century woman

Love Always Finds A Way!

Where does Ain't No Angel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best I have heard.

What did you like best about this story?

.I liked the second half when Laney got to work with the horses and Tyler and her talked and communicated more while out riding. They became closer by learning about each other. He also saw how she worked with horses. Laney had showed him that she knew how to take care of sick and injured horses.

What about Cody D. Roberts’s performance did you like?

I loved Cody's voice of all the characters. The men were sexy and strong and Laney sounded soft not whiney like others I have heard for a woman. Cody has just the right amount of a twang that makes him sound so sexy, but not overdone.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried when Tyler brought Laney to his ranch and left her by her self in her room. I felt sad because Tyler didn't trust Laney. She felt so alone, not knowing what she was to do. I got anger with Gabe for treating Laney so badly trying to save himself. I loved when Tyler took Laney out riding, looking at the horses.

Any additional comments?

I liked the way it came alive with audio and gave me a new imagination and insight by hearing the story. This story brings out a lot of emotion in a reader. Well written story. Highly recommend listening to it.

Struggle and Trust Come Together

While Laney could be considered a "tomboy" in this century, she has a hard time adjusting to the social expectations she finds herself in the 1800's. Tyler is drawn to the strange things Laney says and does but he might find it difficult to trust her when it really counts.
This is a great story I would highly recommend.

Great overcoming obstacles story.

Realistic time travel story. Good characters overcoming obstacles to end up together. Ending leads directly to book 3. I have been reading these in order which I suggest to anyone to do the same. Love the Narrator.

Time travel at it's finest!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, I already have. Time travel, romance, realistic Characters, family drama, Love, anger, tender spots, what more could you want??

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite is Tyler. He just warmed my heart as we follow his journey from being angry about Laney being there and not wanting to fall in love, to embracing him life. I was fun to see him change from a hard man to a soft "melting like butter" man.

Which scene was your favorite?

It is hard to pick just one. the book flowed so well. If I had to pick one it would be when Tyler was cooking and Laney said he could cook and she would go to (she almost slipped and said work). Tyler then said she could go work on the ranch and he would stay home and do the "easy" work.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was so upset with Gabe. He is such a snake. He is so mean and nasty. I was just hoping he would get his payback.

Any additional comments?

this has to be one of my favorite books. I have read it 2 times on my kindle and listened to it once (so far) on my phone.

One of my favorites

This is one of my favorites in the Second Chances series, and I hope there are more to come! Peggy L Henderson develops the characters so well, and you fall in love with all of them so easily! The narrator's voice truly makes me want to meet this cowboy from the 1800s! Great job!!

ANOTHER TOUCHING SECOND CHANCE

Great follow-up book where Rev. Johnson plays match-maker through time an offers desperate Laney a mission and in return she'll get her heart's desire which is working with horses.... and possibly the love of a good man. It's an offer she can't and daren't refuse but he failed to tell her that it's 150 years in the past.

Handsome and caring Horse breeder Tyler has a lot of emotional baggage and wants to stay away from women, especially fallen ones, but he's been set-up and is about to tell the expected mail order bride to go home but when he sees Laney step off the coach his resolve crumbles into dust. But this isn't the life, or century, Laney was expecting nor is she what Tyler is accustomed to in women which makes for a very enjoyable listen as chemistry, need, disastrous events and a vengeful hidden enemy bring two haunted but likeable characters closer together. As the character development brings mutual attraction, trust, lust, passion, sex and a tender love story, someone evil is plotting Tyler's downfall and Laney becomes a pawn in his terrible revenge with heartbreaking results.

Worth a credit? From the beginning to the end I enjoyed and was captivated by it all, the characters, the sweet romance, the unfolding dramas and the unfortunate dilemmas made me unable to hit the pause button until I realised dawn had broken and a new day was quickly approaching. So, yes a very credit-worthy listen that's got a hero you can't help but fall for and a great Narrator that brought him, and all the other characters, to life
