Awesome!

The Omnibus edition made me initially believe this is a three book series, it is not there will be more, it sets up nicely for more epic adventures. I kinda wished for a different title but that is hardly a criticism the writing and performance was fantastic.

Stranger in a Strange Land indeed

I think many people who read this book, won't quite understand exactly why the protagonist caught on to certain societal differences faster than others outside of just the standard is he gay and fantasy novel things. However given the protagonist former profession, it actually makes sense given that that is supposed to be a highly adaptable person. Perhaps the character should have been a little older due to that. but I'm glad I caught this in the Omni bus, and I really wish that there were more books already published in the series and on audiobook. Again I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next installments.

An ubcredubke read

Combining adventure with lots of sex had my attention the whole series. Never a dull minute and it has me begging for more. Great job. Can't wait for the next in the series to come out.

A pretty decent book set! 2 thumbs up.

I enjoyed the characters and the story line. I was laughing quite a bit while listening to this story.
What I didn't care for was when the 2 characters (1 male, 1 female) were talking, the "he said, she said" was a bit cringy... obviously she said it if the female character's voice uttered the words.
But that's being nit-picky, and overall, a wonderfully enjoyable book.
I'm looking forward to more adventures with Alex and his band of misfits.

Straightforward, easy to understand story

The stories, well thought out and easy to follow. Concepts are well planned out.
Performance suffered a little bit mostly problems on the recording room side should’ve been cleaned up in editing.

Story Asks: What if Having Sex Was a Super Power?

Let me start by stating right up front that the overarching story is pretty good. I really enjoyed the world and character that Hercules West introduces us to in this series. However, I DO feel like the entire series started with the idea of: "What if mind blowing sex makes your super power stronger?"

In case it is unclear from the description(s) or the audio sample(s), the main character Alex is apparently very handsome, very well endowed, knows how to (and that he should) always please a lady first, OH - AND - having sex with him will boost a woman's magical power two or three fold for a short time.

Kind of bring a whole new meaning to the term: "Get F**ked" doesn't it? Let me be clear, I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. Just an interesting choices to build a fantasy world around.

And lets be fair, if you make it past Taiya and Alex's escape from the Rockskins early in the first book, then you know what you are getting into. And continuing at that point is your choice. I for one, chose to ride along, eating proverbial popcorn, enjoying the story, and rolling my eyes were appropriate.

Which just shows just how well Mr. West knows how to keep a story going.

In all honesty, the sex as a super power was well thought out, there were upsides and a little downside. The thing that made me score the story low was the unexplainable way classes and races were named so inconsistently. You have great names for classes like "Flame Dancer" or "White Witch". And some classic race names we know like "Elf" or "Orc" mixed with new race names like "Tarenian" which all sound really cool.

Then you have things like Alex's class "Strong Man" or the racial name "Rockskins". Really Mr West? You couldn't come up with ANY other name for a supernaturally strong person than "Strong Man"? What if they are a woman? And I really want to know, what do the Rockskins call themselves? I can't believe they call themselves "Rockskins". It feels like Mr. West couldn't think of a name while writing the story and put in adjectives place holders and then never went back and changed them.

However, all things being equal. If you like a spicy fantasy adventure with harem-lite elements and a main hero who always knows how to satisfy a woman or bash in a bad guys head in. Alex Khan is your man!
