About this listen

Pretty Little Liars meets People like Us in this taut, tense thriller about two teens who find their lives intertwined when an anonymous texter threatens to spill their secrets and uproot their lives.

PRIVATE NUMBER: Wouldn't you look better without a cheater on your arm?

AMANDA: Who is this?

The daughter of small-town social climbers, Amanda Kelly is deeply invested in her boyfriend, real estate heir Carter Shaw. He's kind, ambitious, the town golden boy - but he's far from perfect. Because behind Amanda's back, Carter is also dating Rosalie.

PRIVATE NUMBER: I'm watching you, sweetheart.

ROSALIE: Who IS this?

Rosalie Bell is fighting to remain true to herself and her girlfriend - while concealing her identity from her Christian fundamentalist parents. After years spent in and out of conversion "therapy", her own safety is her top priority. But maintaining a fake straight relationship is killing her from the inside.

When an anonymous texter ropes Amanda and Rosalie into a bid to take Carter down, the girls become collateral damage - and unlikely allies in a fight to unmask their stalker before Private uproots their lives.

PRIVATE NUMBER: You shouldn't have ignored me. Now look what you made me do....

I didn’t know I needed YA thriller as a genre in my life until Kit Frick came into my life.

This was a great story to not only reveal the pressures of parents on their kids, but also the devastating truth of church conversion of kids who are homosexual. It is so sad to think parents can be so cruel and yet do it in the name of God-what complete hypocrisy!

There are loads of lessons for the young lady in this work. Lots of 'Don'ts' than 'Dos'.

Very informative book for those that aren’t part of the LGBTQ community or strict churches. Great story line and strong meaning behind the whole book!

I loved that the story had two different narratives of one story. I definitely got sucked into it right away and was always sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen. I absolutely loved it and would 100% recommend to my friends.

Suspenseful, relatable & overall excellent!!

I started this on a whim because I was curious what a YA thriller would be like and I’m glad I did. The beginning is a little slow with getting to know the characters and setting everything up, but once you get past that it moves much quicker. What I really loved was how real and relatable both of the main characters were. The plot itself may not be something that would happen in real life, but their story lines were raw and there were parts that made me tear up because, well, I have known those girls. The more I thought about how real the characters were, the more angry I got for each of them and by the end I was so happy that they both went the directions they did. I was emotionally invested. Even the note from the author at the end made me emotional. The way the book is written does a fantastic job of showing where both girls are coming from and really makes you see everything from both angles, which I loved. On top of the format, the performance was truly top notch. These ladies did an amazing job of making me actually feel like I was listening to the characters. I honestly would probably go back and give this a second listen. Highly recommend.

Raw, real, and relatable.

I related to both characters in many ways and it felt refreshing. As someone who used to read alot as a kid (now I'm 23) it is kinda difficult to find my footing again. This book lowkey changed that and I highly recommend. My only gripe would have to be the ending. *SPOILER* I didn't really make sense on how Carter changed in the end. There was no foreshadowing (at least on Amanda's chapters) and his unhinged behavior at the end didn't feel natural.

Truly love these characters
