About this listen

He broke my heart...now he’s returned for my blood.

I’m no one - just a magic-less woman who fled the supernatural world after being dumped and humiliated by the most powerful vampire in Britain.

He made me a laughing stock, a cautionary tale. I had no choice but to leave.

That was a long time ago. I got over the betrayal. Now, I’m on the mend.

But when an assassin tracks me down to London claiming that a deadly power thrums beneath my veins, only one person is strong enough to save my hide: Valentine Sargon - the Vampire King who stole my virginity and broke my heart.

He’ll help, but only if I move into a safe house. With him.

Valentine is as handsome as the devil, silver-tongued and seductive as sin. I don’t trust him or the way he hungers for my blood. But I’ve run out of choices and can’t refuse.

He’s going to protect me from the assassins, but who’s going to protect me from him?

If you like enemies-to-lovers paranormal romances with adventure, conflict, and steam, you’ll love Allure of the Vampire King.

Beware, cliffhanger

Good story to the extent I did buy the next book. however this ended in a bad part of the story for the cliffhanger...sigh!

This is a good book, but If I would’ve realized it had has so subsequent books, I probably wouldn’t have delved into it.

Mira is pathetic, but I have hope.

I've tried to write this review like four times, so thanks audible for erasing it in the desktop app every time anything gets clicked. Fix that please. Anyway, Mira was a disappointment in this book, but I have hope. I hope she grows a backbone and becomes fierce, and I have that hope for her because she had changed while away from Valentine. I love Valentine's character though. Narration was great. Mira just failed so many freaking times in a row, making dumb decision after dumb decision. Failing to speak up for herself until it's too late, failing to act until it's too late, one thing after another until at the end you're left understanding there's nowhere to go but up from here.

I'm very conflicted

I got introduced to these main characters in another series, and I loved them. I have moments where I like them and the story is well rounded and well crafted, and in those moments I can sink in and enjoy it.

However, it doesn't stay that way. it's like the framework to the story isn't stable or something.
I have to say most of the time I dislike the main female...quite a bit. The majority of the story is honestly just not formed well enough. The relationship between the main characters is just... not shaped? I'm not sure, you can see and feel Valentine's personality and emotions well but when it comes to Mira, it just all falls flat. Perhaps it was rushed in areas and I can just sense it in the writing. sometimes it is just as if the writers heart wasn't actually in it.

"too, too much!! "

The person reading reads so fast you miss most of what's she saying. on top if it, everything sounds the same.

Great storyline. BUT too much repetition of EVERY!

The author must think we have no ability to remember anything. Then not only was there so much repeat there is way to much commentary. I deleted and will be requesting refund.
