Publisher's summary

To touch a Dark One is death. To talk to an immortal is suicide. Yet, I've been marked by both.

A Vampire. And the King of the immortals. My life is no longer my own. And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with. It was theirs.

It's always been theirs.

Contains mature themes.

ok

I tend to get hooked on this genre but this story felt underdeveloped and Elementary and its composition. The development of the story as a whole wasn't as rich and full as it could have been. The storyline had a lot of potential but I just felt like that was lacking substance.

Worth the listen.

Got this book free with the sign up and at first didn’t like the way the reader spoke but after a while you to get used to it and into the story line. Its a nice love story over unexpected mates.

never given a narrator 5 stars bfore

Except the voice of Stephanie and Alex, who sounded like whiney, rich teenagers, the narrators did an exceptional job. I like how they just basically read out loud in their OWN voices. Listening to a woman imitating a man's voice (or vice versa) is just distracting and annoying! A bad narrator can make a good book unreadable, or makes u unable to listen anyway. If u want a lot of different voices and accents u wont like these guys. But I personally liked them a lot. The book was great. I love fantasy books but cant stand whiney teens who are more interested in talking about how hot a guy is when their impending death is upon them. Not very realistic. The author did a good job in capturing the reality of the situation everyone was in. I'd like to hear more about these main characters, but oh well. Their story ended well and I'll be buying the second book in a moment. Believe me, it's worth the credit and I've never said that in a review.

could be better

I am definitely not a fan of the narration. Very bland, boring to the point of putting me to sleep. The story could be great with a little more development. I did enjoy the potential for the characters, I will not continue with the saga because of the narrators, but I do like the Author.

Loved the story building!

The story was definitely something I invested in pretty quickly. I enjoyed the comic relief as well. I definitely plan to read the rest of the series.

🌟disappointed🌟

Well....this was interesting, I tried to like it but-- the story line
was a little to weird for me.
Plus-- that ending sucked donkey balls!
Both narrators did a good.
Not enough HOT & STEAMY SEX EITHER !

This is a fantastic story!

I loved the creativity and the way the story flowed. There was also humor in it which made me chucle a couple times. I liked it!

Numb male narrative

I love the story but the male narrative was excruciatingly numb and cold, almost computer like. There was no emotion in his voice and was quite hard to follow. It was like listening to a child learning to read. But.... the book's story itself was very interesting and steamy.
