About this listen

It should have been an open and shut case...

USA TODAY & Amazon 2-million copy bestselling author BLAKE BANNER is at his best in this mystifying crime series!

At forty-something, Bob Walklet was about to make a fortune with his IT company. But hed made the mistake of falling in love with his assistant, twenty-something Sorka Williams. They were crazy about each other, and Bob had told his wife, Sheila - a thirty-something, ex-cop insurance consultant.

He wanted a divorce. And there was a prenup.

When he was found in his bedroom, stabbed in the heart, her DNA was literally all over him, her prints were on the knife and a neighbor had seen her hurrying from the house at the time of death. Not only that, his death saved her from the prenup, and she cleaned up on the insurance.

Open and shut.

Except for the small matter that over two hundred guests, including her friend the Boston Police Commissioner, had all seen her deliver a speech at a conference two hundred miles away, right at the time Bob was killed.

So the question Detectives Stone and Dehan are asking is, how can a killer be in two places at the same time?

Another Excellent Procedural!!!!

If you’ve listened to any of the other books in this series (and looked at the reviews for those books) then you may have noticed that I’m a huge fan and have left a review for if not all then most. This book is no exception. The story is great, the characters are believable and the plot is complex enough that you can’t guess who done it until the end when that person is revealed.

This book was released out of order but since they are all standalone novels it really has no impact I would still suggest listening to the series in order (the rest of the previous book are already available) if for no other reason than character and relationship development. These characters have come a long way since book one!

Adam Grupper does a wonderful job narrating. He’s perfect for this series and a few others as well. I know Empress Karen has recently become a fan of his as well.

This book and series has my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS!!

Noir like story, Eg Philip Marlow

See Shelly’s helpful review. I discovered Adam grupper from book one in the Lincoln lawyer series, But I had not investigated anymore of the stories he narrated. I was not familiar with this author so with Shelly’s recommendation, l purchased it.
If you like the Nick and Nora stories with William Powell and Myrna Loy, you will enjoy this series. Excellent, who done it .
