About this listen

Smarter decision-making based on cognitive science

AlphaBrain is the investor's guide to achieving more, doing better, and reaching higher. At its core, the magnitude of your success is based on the quality of your decisions. The problem is that human beings are poor decision-makers; we tend to approach problems after they arise instead of planning for them in advance. We put too much weight on instinct, belief, and "gut feeling". We make the same mistakes over and over again - so reliably, in fact, that cognitive science can accurately predict exactly which mistakes we'll make and when.

This book offers a way to understand and plan for the human mind's usual tendencies to help you make smarter investment decisions. Using a framework based on cognitive research, you'll learn how to approach decisions objectively, systematically, and constantly review your process; you'll take action based on evidence instead of intuition and get ahead of potential problems before they get the best of you.

With so much riding on the correctness of your choices, natural tendency can be a dangerous thing. This book reveals how to remove the bias and emotion to start making choices backed by hard evidence and objective data and lower your stress.

old news made to sound new

this guy seems like he likes the smell of his own farts. he self selects scenarios which reinforce the idea he's trying to convey, sometimes imperfectly and neglecting what seem to be obvious counter arguments. not gonna go into details, but as an equity analyst, this book is skippable relative to other must reads.

neat concept

I may have to read again. I actually listen on audible so reading may give me a different understanding. I notice alot of trading terms and didn't necessarily connect with that. I will try physically reading to see of a better understanding comes.

Absolutely Phenomenal

The narrator was awesome. Definitely my top 5 of all time. it's the kind of book you can go back and listen to 100 times and get something out of.

Too long and not enough actionable info

Struiggled to finish this. It went on way too long for it to be useful to most people.

if you think you will learn to decide

you are wrong. you will have an advantage knowing NFL aswell. else he tell he worked through his education in ten minutes blocks on different subjects. I get the feeling he has done this writing this book aswell. very disappointed. I expected at least a suggestion of how to make a decision tree/a decision process.

I hope I get more out of thinking fast and slow. I really don't understand why this was so recommended. Maybe option people that knows how the call/put spread as this was also useless.. (as i barely know how options was, ican do without someone bragging about how good trades they once did...
