About this listen

Teenager Sarah Hillock has decided death is a better alternative than life. She has attempted suicide and is determined to try again. Psychologist Allyson Freemont and detective Ernie Blackwell try to discover what has happened in this girl's life to set her on a path of self-destruction. They learn her father, Alex Hillock, disappeared nine years ago. His wife, Grace, is contacted by an attorney from Ft. Lauderdale with startling information. Against advice of friends and family, Grace takes her two children and leaves the safety of the rural Florida home they share with her mother. She has ignored years of questions and gossip about her husband's disappearance. Grace still believes in him. She believes in love everlasting. Her friends and family don't know what to believe.

I loved this story, and have listened to it twice now.

I really felt for these characters. The desperation of Sarah, Allison's memories, Grace's love and faith in Alex, and Alex's love for 2 women.

I am eager to listen to more from this author

I received this free from the author for an honest review

This is a good story.A teen acts out and cuts herself and ends up in Graces care. The storylines of the families involved in this childs life and how they intertwine are well written and moving.I felt that some points were repeated WAY too many times and that the narration was dragging at points but it was good after all.Sheila Cavalette did a very good job narrating.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
