About this listen

Lisa Wingate has been favorably compared to authors Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans.

In A Month of Summer, Hanna Beth has been caring for her aging husband - who suffers from Alzheimer's - and her developmentally challenged adult son for years on her own. But when she suffers a stroke, estranged stepdaughter Rebecca must take the reins. As she cares for her father and the step-brother she's barely met, Rebecca slowly begins to heal both herself and her family.

My dad has Alzheimer’s, and my husband and I moved back to where I grew up to help taking care of him. This was a beautiful book to listen to, and gather some strength from. It help me feel not so alone. In the struggles of taking care of an Alzheimer’s patient thank you.

A few years back, I became a Lisa Wingate fan. Big time! I have been trying to catch up with reading (listening to) all of the books she has written. Maybe one day I will get there.

As with all of her other books, this one does not disappoint. Lisa has very keen insight into human nature.

Johanna Parker, as always, turns in a stellar narration performance. Although I am writing this review in 2024, I should point out that Johanna won an Audie Award (2010, I believe) for her performance of this audiobook. Richly deserved!

I highly endorse this audiobook.

Hard to get into during chapter one...keep going. It may be Wingate's best.

I was amused by the "Texas" accents. We raised our 4 kids in Angelina County. I never heard people talk like Clod or Mary. And Angelina was never pronounced "Anhelina".....always "Anjelina". All that aside the performance was good.

Great reminders and lessons on life and marriage. Loved the twists and turns that kept coming til the very end.
