About this listen

The best aerial technique won't land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour, a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she's out of her element the second she meets Amour's leading performer. Confident, charming, and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova lives up to his nickname as the "God of Russia". When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai's after-show, her audition process begins way too soon.

Unprofessional. That's what Nik calls their "nonexistent" relationship, but it's not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future - acrobatic partners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world.

Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes, Thora fears that she's destined to remain in the background of his spellbinding show.

4*****

Loved this book thought it was an extension of the Calloway . Great narrative. The determination and the extra strength to go on the the ups and down shows through out this book.

My New Parting Line!

I really loved the characters in this story and Ava (one of my very faves) really brought them to life.. Loved the different plot line and setting. Very Unique. Now when I leave instead of just saying "See you later", I tell them "Well, I'm off to join the Circus!"

Not my favorite, but good

I didn’t like this one as much as the Like Us series, but it was still enjoyable. I like the Vegas and circus aspects.
Narration was very good.
Worth a listen.

Make me want to run away to to the circus

Following your dreams even when the world is against you is the base of the book...and I loved it. The characters are well defined and the story is a great listen. Thora the main character follows her dream to Vegas where she wants to join the circus. She has to work harder and focus on what she wants when her old life in Ohio is telling her to come back to real world. Great love story.

Narration fell short

I absolutely love this book. The plot, the characters, just everything, it worked for me. I'm not a fan of the authors' other books really so you know, my love is based 100% on the book. That being said, I felt like the narration was not really up to par.

When the narrator is reading Tora, it's fine, no issues. When she reads male voices however, that's when it falls flat for me. Her voice goes a little stronger (more male like) speaking one line to a softer one (more female) in the next. There is a line where it reads "... he says in that low husky voice" yet he sounds just like Thora does. It's not as if I'm expecting the narrator to sound exactly like a man, I just think the way she read Nikolai was not consistent throughout the book.

Still, it wasn't horrible or hard to listen to. I do think I'd rather read the book again as opposed to listen to it.

Captivating, hot, and aw inspired!

I was in a book hole when I came across this one. I read the info and listened to the sample and thought I'll give it a go. I have listened to 100's of audio romance books and only a few make my top picks or do I leave a review! the narrator is perfect for thus story. she helps you imagine everything! The story was amazing! Just enough twists, turns, and drama but not so much the main story gets lost! this is in my favorite and definitely in my top 5 of all time!!!
