About this listen

Rowan

I'm in the business of creating fairy tales. Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels. Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland. My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her. Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias. By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.

People like me don't get happy endings. Not when we're destined to ruin them.

Zahra

After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland's most expensive ride, I should have been fired. Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job. The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I'd ever met.

Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn't care. At least not until I discovered his secret. It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn't fix everything. Especially not us.

Contains mature themes.

DNF

To many no’s. The reference to a homophobic restaurant, the comparison to a theme park in Florida, I just couldn’t continue without wondering what agenda was happening here.

Best Grumpy Sunshine

Rowan and Zarah are the best grumpy/sunshine duo. I love that Rowan had a curiosity about Zarah from the beginning which ignited his slight obsession about learning who she was. Not only do you get to see both characters fall in love, but you also see how they both grow individually.
I also grew to love and care for Ani! I love how the author incorporated characters with DS and also made them out to be independent, hard working, and bubbly people.
Narration was also fantastic! Their voices definitely fit the characters well.

You’ve got mail meets fifty shades of grey

I would definitely recommend this to an 18+ reader as it get really nasty at times … the Xx story line is a bit much at times… the Cinderella meets prince falls in love and gets married with a modern take overall an ok book

Disney world for Adults

During the reading of this book, I completely was thinking about Disney World. The book is well written with a wonderful storyline that makes you feel like this could possibly at some point be a true story. Rowan is a complex character who starts out as a villain, and turns into a misunderstood prince. Zahra is your typical girl. As I was reading her character, I could not help but giggle to myself, because I could relate to her. There was some thing about the development of the story that made me think back on when I met my husband. It’s a sweet story, but it’s for adults.

There are some extremely graphic, sex scenes, and moments in the book that make you blush so hard you need to shut the book and go for a walk. Overall, I think this is a wonderful read. The narration is spot on. Disclaimer: do not listen to this in the car .

I loved the characters. At first it was slow and kinda boring but I didn’t give up I continued with the book and it turned out to be my favorite. I would totally recommend

Unexpectedly amazing

I was unsure about this book idk why just was but boy was I wrong.
I couldn’t put it down! I feel in love with the characters and the story. I won’t lie I’m disappointed that the next book isn’t about Rowan and Zahra but if it’s anything like this read I can’t wait!

A true fairytale story

I liked the story but I couldn’t help but want the FL to not take the ML bs and stand on business lol. Also I wished the performers would’ve taken turns speaking instead of imitating each other

The rest of this series made this book worth it!

The good: Great discussion of tough topics (toxic masculinity and mental health) and amazing inclusivity! Ultimately the plot was good, my problem was mostly character based.
This was the most extreme version of "grumpy/ sunshine" I've ever read. Rowan being grumpy was borderline just being a dick... almost unlikeable until you learn his story (of course). Zhara was a toddler and took sunshine to an entire different level... I couldn't stand her…
Worth the read? Maybe, if you are interested, then yes. (But only because the other two
books are so much better!)
I know this review seems harsh but ultimately I’m happy to have read it because the follow up books are absolutely AMAZING. The performance was well done.

3/5

I think Rowan just just a little too emotionally childish for my liking. Overall liked the story and I loved the way the dialogue was written, it made if very enjoyable to read and listen too.

Well developed story

The story and characters are well developed but this history doesn’t overshadow the present very captivating read I look forward to to diving into the lives of the other brothers. Wondering if the info about the father and grandfather and mother will become repetitive
