About this listen

In the 12th novel in the New York Times best-selling Longmire series, Walt, Henry, and Vic discover much more than they bargained for when they are called in to investigate a hit-and-run accident near Devils Tower involving a young motorcyclist.

In the midst of the largest motorcycle rally in the world, a young biker is run off the road and ends up in critical condition. When Sheriff Walt Longmire and his good friend, Henry Standing Bear, are called to Hulett, Wyoming - the nearest town to America's first national monument, Devils Tower - to investigate, things start getting complicated. As competing biker gangs; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; a military-grade vehicle donated to the tiny local police force by a wealthy entrepreneur; and Lola, the real-life femme fatale and namesake for Henry's '59 Thunderbird (and, by extension, Walt's granddaughter) come into play, it rapidly becomes clear that there is more to get to the bottom of at this year's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally than a bike accident. After all, in the words of Arthur Conan Doyle, whose Adventures of Sherlock Holmes the Bear won't stop quoting, "There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact".

Like the rest of the Walt Longmire books and short stories, this one was full of humor and intrigue. AND to top it off - George Guidall does another great performance in its reading!!

This is the classic mix of drama, suspense, true local color, travelogue, romance and laugh-out-loud humor. How can you not love Walt, Vic, Henry, and the whole crew? This was one of my favorite books in the series!

Gotta Love Walt!

I absolutely love the Walt Longmire series. This particular story made me laugh out loud often. The story has it’s serious moments as well as action. The characters are well developed through all the books. George Guidall is a great narrator! He is the voice of the Longmire series and thank god they did not change narrator. I cannot say enough about this series.

Another great story from Craig Johnson

This narrator is the PERFECT Walt Longmire. His other voices are believable and his humor is spot on

I love this narrator

Great story - full of twists that I expected. I did expect more out of Lola. She didn't live up to the obvious impact she made on Henry's life.
Other than that I loved it.

Good but not the best Longmire

Craig Johnson and George Giudall have amazed me again with a natural, relevant story of Western values and culture. My thanks and appreciation

Totally enchanting and absorbing

I love the Longmire series...everyone of them but there are different levels of depth to the stories. This one was captivating but not as wrapped in intertwining story as several others are such as The Cold Dish and Death Without Company etc. George Guidall IS Walter Longmire and the most engaging reader...thank you!

I love the Longmire Series
