Steffi Rosetti is assigned to cover the spring fashion collection in Milan, Italy, but her trip is complicated by a strange, unexpected letter from someone she has never met - her paternal grandmother. Curious and apprehensive, Steffi heads for Italy where she meets the new photographer for Mode, and as they explore the streets of Milan and the waterways of Venice, she makes her decision whether or not to visit this woman she's never known, unaware of how her life would change with these two new encounters.

This was a sweet, short romance. Nice to listen to during the holidays. Steffi goes to Italy on assignment for the magazine she works for.She also has had contact from her paternal grandmother, whom she does not know, but lives in Italy. She struggles with whether to go and see her. While in Italy, she meets Paul, the photographer for the magazine she works for. Over the time they work together, they develop a loving relationship and he helps her work through her family issue.
Giselle Lumas gives an entertaining performance.

Gail Gaymer Martin writes an inspirational, faith-based romance. It is well written and well performed.
Stephanie receives a letter from her estranged grandmother in Italy, asking her to come. Along the way she runs into another American, a rude man who becomes an unlikely companion. Suitable for all ages.
Gisele Lumis is a great performer. There is a small issue with the background making her voice sound tinny. This is a technical glitch and did not affect the performance after listening for a few minutes.
*I received this book for my unbiased review. If you found my review helpful, would you please take a moment and select "yes" below? I also invite you to follow me here on audible.

What disappointed you about An Open Door?
The sound quality was horrible-sounded like it was done in a closet. The narrator seemed like she had never read a book out loud before, it was really awful. I couldn't get past more than 5 minutes-which is a first for me after listening to over 500 books!Would you be willing to try another book from Gail Gaymer Martin? Why or why not?
If there was a different narrator, yes.How could the performance have been better?
better sound quality and an experience narratorLiterally painful to listen to
