About this listen

The battle for Urdesh has begun - and the outcome will determine the fate of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Ibram Gaunt, now right hand to the Warmaster, and his Ghosts hold the key to victory - but can they defeat the sinister Anarch and his Sons of Sek?

Listen to it because:

It's all been leading to this. The Victory arc concludes with an epic story that weaves together plot threads from throughout the entire Gaunt's Ghosts series and puts the beloved characters in more danger than you'll be able to bear. Fair warning: they're not all going to get out alive.

The story:

Men of Tanith...do you want to live forever?

On the forge world of Urdesh, the massed forces of the Imperial Crusade engage in a final bloody battle with the Archenemy commander known as the Anarch and his elite warriors - the barbaric Sons of Sek. A victory for either side will decide more than just the fate of Urdesh...it will determine the outcome of the entire Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Ibram Gaunt - now serving at the right hand of Warmaster Macaroth - finds himself at the very heart of the struggle. His regiment, the Tanith First “Ghosts”, holds the vital key to ultimate success. But as the forces of the Imperium and Chaos square up for the final, large-scale confrontation, Gaunt discovers that the greatest threat of all may come from inside rather than out.

An incredible ride

Between tugging at your heart strings and filling you with pride for the Tanith and the emperor of mankind Dan Abnett simply does it again. Fantastic book and end to a wonderful arc.

Wow! Just WOW!

That is definitely the way to end a series like this! The twists! The turns! The loose threads that were neatly tied up! AND the other threads that you realize were just red herrings! I was a little worried after the last book, but this one did everything it needed to, precisely as it needed to and exactly when it needed to. The timing and flow were great, Toby Longworth returned to finish of the series as well, so that's another huge plus! I also love that Abnett left enough room and material for a follow up book or two if so desired. This book neatly tied up the Anarch Sek story arc and I am pleased with how it did that!

Just incredibile

A great great way to bring it all home. How many of the stories all came to ahead in this book was just tremendous. One of the best series in this universe.

A excellent ride.

In an attempt to be spoiler free. This is a great book that concludes the “Victory” chapter of the Gaunt series. Losses and triumphs in Abnett style.if you made through the first 14 of this series then this does not disappoint. Enjoy.

Great Book

Great apparent finish to the Tanith saga, but unfortunately the audio is somewhat uneven mosty when characters whisper.

Exceptional.

Could barely put it down. Sucked you in. Held on with constant twists and turns. Conclusion was just that...finally brought everything together and to a close.

Great end to an Arc

If you've made it up to this book you already know the deal, Toby Longsworth is amazing and Dan Abnett is always amazing. Sad for everything to wrap up, but it was a good conclusion to a lot of the stories so far. I'd love at least one more book to wrap things up more completely.
