Enjoyable!

[Some minor spoilers ahead]
I read this book years ago & enjoyed it. The story has a bit of a Pride and Prejudice kind of flavor. Admittedly, the beginning of the story had me wondering how Logan could redeem himself, but the author did a fairly decent job of it. I had hoped that Brennan would end up with Logan's sister, but hopefully they'll get their happily-ever-afters in future books in this new series.

Laurie was a very sympathetic heroine and I really liked how she handled herself. I struggled a little with her clumsy moments, as I get sympathetic embarrassment so it's hard not to cringe, but it didn't make me want to quit or anything. The sort of pre-proposal proposal at the end was too soon, but at least they agreed to a longer engagement to spend time getting to know each other more fully.

Overall, I loved the protagonists and watching their relationship develop. I wouldn't mind more audiobooks of her roommates' stories!

*Romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic

[Audiobook: I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to listen to it at first. The narrator's voice is kind of higher pitched/younger sounding - chipmunky, for lack of a better description - & not well suited to adult voices or male voices, but I actually got used to it fairly quickly, & she did a decent job distinguishing character voices.]

Glad to see this is Book 1

Talk about a story about enemies to lovers. Laurie and Logan's first meeting is unimpressive as he accompanies his sister to buy her bridal gown (he's opposed to the marriage). It's during the second meeting that sparks fly. He's really arrogant and rude. We find out later what's going on with him, and he must have found Laurie unforgettable because he keeps coming back trying to get her to accept his apology. It's a good thing she'd already found him so physically attractive.

I listened to the audiobook. Loralie Jacqueline's voice was a bit little girlish at first, but it kind of grew on me, and I found it fit. She did great with the voices.

Sweet Romance

Sweet romance at its finest. The cast of characters is engaging and I can’t wait to learn more about them all.

And something blue

I enjoyed Amelia Adams book and something blue. It carried a cute story line and it had some plot twists and turns. I love Amelia’s writing style whether it’s historical romance or current day romance. Her books always flow well. The narrator was ok. She spoke a little fast but got use to it. Would highly recommend. Keep up the great writing.

Great story!

I was a bit hesitant with the narration at first but as I got further into the book the easier it was to imagine that it was the heroine’s voice. Storyline was great. There were a couple scenes where I had a little difficulty differentiating between the dialogue and setting descriptions but it wasn’t that bad. I have to admit that most of the dialogues scenes were filled with great animation from the narrator and I laughed quite a bit making it a very enjoyable read. Story itself was super sweet and modern and wasn’t hard to imagine myself being a bystander in the story and watching it all unfold. It’s a great feel good romance with just the perfect amount of comedy to keep it from feeling too cheesy. I think author and narrator did an awesome job!

Small town love

I loved this story. Small towns have such personality. Amelia made me want to visit Aspen Ridge. The main character comes back to Aspen Ridge after college and meets a guy that she initially doesn't like so much. Well.... feelings change.....Go get the book and find out what happens!!!

Cute story

The story was really cute. The writing was fun and witty. I did not love the narrator, but the story held my attention enough that I was able to overlook it

Stayed up late

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Despite the cover, my mind expected a novel more in line with Kansas Crossroads historicals by Amelia. It didn't take long for my mind to adjust to the truth, and I was happily listening to this wonderful book. It is rather like "romance meets Say Yes To The Dress, but without Monty". The trials this couple goes through are both funny at times, and sad at others. I'm trying very hard to not include spoilers, but "Yes!, they do get together." And the creepy guy (there is always one) gets his in the end. I stayed up late to finish this in one sitting and wasn't disappointed.

I HIGHLY recommend this to any fan of Amelia C. Adams, or fans of any of the series she collaborates on. You won't be disappointed.

Sweet, wholesome romance with a small town flavor!

Though this might seem like a short audiobook, I was very impressed with how well rounded the heroine was. We learn what has challenged her in the past and how this has shaped her present. I will admit that I was not sure who she would marry by the end of the book. The hero seemed, at first, like an impossible and improbable match for her. Ms. Adams deftly made their romance seem like a perfect fit by the end! I really enjoyed, as well, getting to know the main street of the town and being introduced to people working in the businesses. It reminded me a bit of the small town in which I grew up as there is a nostalgic feel at times to the story. My favorite part of the book, though, was the witty humor and light sarcasm. It was so well written!!!!
My least favorite part of the audiobook had to be the male voices used by the narrator. These seemed so forced at times that I wished she had done a bit less dramatization. Still, she is an excellent reader and add fantastic inflection. I would listen to other books that she might narrate.
I strongly reccomend the book to anyone who loves Robyn Carr or Kirsten Osbourne. Actually, I just plain reccomend the book to everyone!
