Sensible gentleman of means seeks a sensible lady of good breeding for correspondence, and in due consideration, matrimony.

Which is exactly the sort of advertisement that makes practical-to-a-fault Daphne Dale's heart flutter. A sensible gentleman, in her estimation, is the perfect match, and she's even more convinced once she's exchanging sensibly romantic letters with her very appropriate suitor. That is, until Lord Henry Seldon strays into her path. He's everything she's vowed to avoid - a rakish charmer whose very touch seduces her practical sensibilities and her resolve.

Lord Henry Seldon was not amused when his nephew placed an advertisement to find him a wife. Yet he couldn't resist replying to the note from "Miss Spooner". And once he discovers he's corresponding with none other than the disarming Daphne Dale, he finds it's too late to disavow his heart. Now it is up to Henry to prove to Daphne just how insensible - and powerfully passionate - true love can be...

I loved this book. It was sweet and funny. The characters are lovable. It has the sweetest dog. I’m a sucker for animals and kids and at least one ornery elderly person. The only thing missing in this book was kids. But, no matter. Throw all those things together, give me story and a laugh and I’m you’re fan! It was also narrated by Susan Duerden who is always great. I don’t remember any bad words. 2 or 3 sex scenes after the couple was in love and tastefully done. (For those who like to know before picking a book.) No cliffhanger. The book prior to this was one was great but this is easily read as a stand alone.

A fun romp not to be missed

I love Elizabeth Boyle's writing style. She sees the humor in life and relationships and makes me laugh while wondering what will happen next! Her books are good reads!

I'm hooked on this author!

Lovely true-love story with good rhythm throughout most of book. Towards the latter third it got a bit slow (or I should say it felt like prolonging the "lie" could've resolved itself faster); but it only lasted maybe 2 chapters & truly made sense by the final chapter & epilogue.

Both hero & Heroine were smart, loving, & desirous to build a life with someone. It warmed my heart so much more than my typical enjoyment of angsty emotionally crippled hero's needing to be brought to scratch. And it made their sex scenes more like loving connections with each other than passionate urges full of doubt or seductions with little decision. This couple connected mentally, emotionally, socially, physically, & maritally at the end.

Very well done to both the author and the SUPERB narrator actress who was also a real pro!

This is a really fun story. I really liked the Hero, Lord Henry and Heroine, Miss Daphne Dale. They made a great "match" wonderful chemistry between the two, A couple nicely written sex scenes. Daphne was a smart, witty, strong heroine, not a simpering whiny chit. Lord Henry a strong, handsome, smart, witty, wealthy second son\uncle to the Duke of Preston from the first book.

I enjoyed the story line and the plot, there was a lot of dialogue, throughout the book which was great. I really enjoyed a many of the secondary characters as well. Some funny moments in this book.

I have already started the third book in this series and am already enjoying it.

As for the narration. Its okay, its Susan Duerden who narrates with that sing song drawn out consonants at the end of her sentences. Really wish she would stop doing that. But she is tolerable, much better than some, ie Anne Flosnik who will ruin a book and I cannot listen to anything she narrates.

Really fun story.

This tale was interesting and did keep me guessing despite knowing what the outcome would be. I did not guess exactly how the ending would be accomplished.

Fun story

we've heard this tale before...see Shop around the corner, You've got mail, add a little Hatfield's vs McCoy's then place it in regency times and you've got the premise. The difference is the writing, character development and the romance brought seamlessly to the fore. The narration is spot on.

what a yarn

This was a cute story. I like the correspondence aspect and I would have really liked to read more of the back and forth between the two of them and how they became closer to each other through their letters. I like this series as cute, easy to listen to books.

An enjoyable book

This tale is seems like its going to be the standard romance. Its filled with twists and turns until the end. An original, I loved it.

Excellent

This was a laugh out loud, joy of a romance. The least likely suspects in this series to get into a pickle do while revisiting characters from previous books.
Loved it.

Supremely funny romance
