"I left her when she was eight. Just a child. Too young to be alone. I killed myself because I could never atone for the things he made me do. There is something wrong with my family, you see. A fear runs through us, through our blood. A fear that circles above us, shredding the sky and clawing at our hearts, and now, from a deathless realm, I am forced to watch as my lonely daughter is tortured by the life I gave her to endure. No father should see the things I've seen, but then no father should do the things I did. Forgive me, Angela."
Angela, a bleak and unflinching gothic horror in which we meet a lonely, middle-aged woman who must live with the legacy of her family's dark secret, the madness that grows in the absence of love, and a closet full of delicate skeletons.

What made the experience of listening to Angela the most enjoyable?
I found a very smooth flow in the composition of the book, the descriptors, while at times very disturbing, were lovely in their make up and poetic in nature.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
This is a book you must be paying attention to in order to follow, there were times when I felt I needed a break because the subject matter had delved into the very heavy end of things.Have you listened to any of Rob Goll’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have notWas there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The unrequited love for her co-worker and the desperate overal loneliness of the main character.Any additional comments?
I received a free copy of this audio book from the author, narrator or publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.Poetic and dark

If you could sum up Angela in three words, what would they be?
Dark. Bleak. Intense. What did you like best about this story?
The atmosphere the story paints is wonderful. Watching this broken woman fall into madness is both beautiful and horrifying at the same time.A Dark Ride Through A Troubled Mind

A very well done short at only 2hrs and 7min. The narrator really added to the darkening atmosphere with his spot on cadence and tone. Solid all the way around. 4+ Stars and Highly Recommended!
Super solid all the way around

Angela's life has always been one filled with sadness and death. The author builds the story bit by bit giving profound clues as Angela falls into insanity. The descriptions are full and gory, very prosy in some parts and they give the story an extra eerie feel.
If macabre is your thing, check this one out!
Creepy!

If you could sum up Angela in three words, what would they be?
Hauntingly, beautiful despairWhat other book might you compare Angela to and why?
The only one that I can think of is Adam's first book, The EndWhich scene was your favorite?
When Angela gets called into to her boss' office and the group of executives confronts her. It was so brutal. You can feel her confusion and her defeat during that scene. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Beware of sad, lonely women, because you might be her next stalking victimAny additional comments?
I was a little surprised that a book from a woman's point of view was narrated by a man. But as I listened to the story unfold, it made more sense. The voices in her head were male and men had been responsible for her fractured mind.Adam's books are not for the squeamish, they are emotional, raw, brutal, and heartbreaking. He reveals every ugly corner of his characters broken and even pathetic self.
His writing style may be too intense for some people, but those who are brave enough to immerse themselves in his dark and unnerving universe will emerge with a little bit more humanity for their trouble.
Not for the faint of heart

What did you love best about Angela?
I liked the whole ensemble put forward between the story and the presentation thereof, nothing seemed to bring it down. What other book might you compare Angela to and why?
I don't really know a book to compare it to.Which character – as performed by Rob Goll – was your favorite?
I liked his portrayal of Angela and all the things that went through her head as she did what she did, it was a powerful combination. If you could take any character from Angela out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I wouldn't, in general, because I don't think I'd like to know them personally but if I had to pick it'd be Angela because I'd like to hear her thoughts moreso than any others.Any additional comments?
I got this in exchange for an honest review and recommend it to anyone looking for a short weird story with great author craftsmanship and a worthy performance.Creepy
